Does the job perfectly, and still working strong after a month. Hopefully I will not have to deal with premature failure on this, especially since it stays on all the time. Then again, there's no real way for the manufacturer to KNOW when I want it turned off. If I really wanted to, I could hook up something to handle the on/off with my receiver. Audio quality is superb!

A sound investment!
Already having a phono stage input on my receiver, I bought this stand-alone pre-amp as a sound upgrade.Of course I couldn't do an A/B comparison, but it was apparent enough after hooking this up that it improved the bass response slightly, and the high end treble somewhat more significantly. As others have noted, I did at first have some hum, but found that it had nothing to do with the unit not grounding properly, but rather was caused by the RCA leads from the turn-table being old and probably being flexed back and forth too many times; a little wiggling of the RCA interconnects eliminated the hum.I'll eventually have to replace either the terminations or even the whole cables, but that has nothing to do with this preamp.

The product is cheaply made and the only instructions were in bad English on the box
You get what you pay for, not much. The product is cheaply made and the only instructions were in bad English on the box. If you inquire about returning it, you get a long email telling you how stupid you are for not knowing the proper way to use the pre-amp. I have been into audio for many years and know what to do to get good sound. The pre-amp might be ok if you don't have a phono input to plug your turntable into, but you better have a higher output cartridge to match up with this product. You don't spend much on this, and I guess it's better than nothing. Save up your pennies and buy something better.

Disappointed
Did not allow 5.1 audio to be split off of hdmi. Tried it on an oppo player with two hdmi out to an older receiver with no hdmi ---- has optical and coax. I'll use it to split hdmi/analog on another system.

A Tremendous MM/MC Phono Preamp!
If there is a better phono preamp anywhere near the price of the TCC TC-760LC...I am not aware of it...and I'm aware of plenty as I have been in the hobby for over 45 years. The preamp is well constructed and you have the ability to use either moving magnet or moving coil carts...High or Low Impedance types. The unit can be set to automatically sense either type or manually controlled. You cannot run two turntables simultaneously but can run one of each type separately...not too shabby...eh?The sound of this baby is open, full, highly detailed, very dimensional and far less hashy than cheapy ones that were included in some stereo receivers. The level control is also nice as it permits tailoring your cartridge's output to your preamp or receiver. S/N is excellent and the device is quite smooth and quiet...enabling a nice dark background to record reproduction. I've owned mine for about six years and have no complaints. Compare this to the more expensive NAD PP2...you just may be quite pleasantly surprised!
