OrthoMax Nutsedge Killer Rtu, 24 fl.oz. (2 Pack)

I have had trouble with nutsedge in my back lawn for probably the past six years. Nearly every year, the areas with the nutsedge have been painfully dug out, nearly half the back yard lawn, and then reseeded. It has become a yearly chore and was almost ready to give up and just kill the whole area and put down red rock. However, my next door neighbor discovered she had nutsedge in her front yard and was using a bottle of Ortho Max Nutsedge Killer and she said it worked wonders on her nutsedge along with all the other weeds in her yard. It sounded worth a try as my almost annual nutsedge was again starting to appear in the back yard this spring. I sent for this product from Amazon and tried it and can honestly say that I didn't expect much but I was wrong as the affected area did die and stayed dead. A couple weeks later another small spot of nutsedge popped up so sprayed it and it is gone. I took a metal stick and attached a small red flag to it so I could walk around the back yard and insert this marker wherever I saw new nutsedge. I also ordered two more bottles of the Ortho Max Nutsedge Killer just to have it on hand even though things were looking good but after the past six years of having the yard dug up not to include the expense of hiring someone to do this, I really didn't think this product could possible kill the nutsedge with spraying just one application. Long story short: It did! This was a couple months ago and I "patrol" my back yard every day looking for nutsedge and picking up after my two dogs and there is none. It really works.

Effective spray for nut grass, but takes a while to work and sometimes needs a repeated application.

This product works faster than Sedgehammer. You can see the result in a day or so. However, be aware that the grass around the Nutsedge may turn brown. I've seen reviews where people have complained that it killed their grass as well as the Nutsedge. Where I used this product there were brown spots and I was concerned that the grass may have died as well. But over time and subsiquent cuttings the grass comes back. Much of the brown that I see was the Nutsedge plant dying.I started this project by using the larger 32oz bottles that you attach to the hose. I had a terrible infestation of Nutsedge and it didn't seem that Sedgehammer was doing the trick. So I used the larger bottle with the hose application since I had such a large area to treat. I purchased the smaller bottle to treat my front yard since the Nutsedge wasn't as bad. Again, the brown patches, but again, over time the brown was the Nutsedge plants dying and eventually they will be gone totally.The main caveat is to read the instructions before using the product because there are specific grasses that this product can be used with. Also, if you are not satisfied with the results, Ortho with refund your money, so keep your receipt.

This is the best product I’ve used to get rid of nutsedge! The big box stores used to sell it, but now you can only get it through them by special order. Much cheaper and easier to order through Amazon.

Like that it doesn't kill lawn grass around where sprayed on Nutsedge. Sometimes have to use several applications to get Nutsedge totally dead; but it is the only product I have found to kill the pesky invasive grass-like plant.

Why does it say 2 pack when it’s only one bottle? Are they charging you double for only one? The product seems to be working well on the nutsedge but I have to take away a couple of stars for the misleading posting.
