FULL Control
This watch is great. It’s ideal for safety, communicating and reliability. My initial plan was to use the device as an incentive to encourage my 6 year old girl to improve a skillset before giving it to her. So I showed it to her when it arrived, she was thrilled and told her she can only have it if she did better with her penmanship… It worked she’s being careful and thoughtful about her writing. When I gave it to her I conveyed that I’d take it away if she doesn’t continue to improve… She’s used it to call us when she’s been out of the house, is excited to have her own phone number and memorized it already. Aside from our initial incentive idea, the features and benefits illustrated in the description of the watch are dead on. We’ve had other watches but they were more of a distraction with video games and other random features. My wife and I love that we have full control of the watch, from school mode to the Buddies app – only allow our authorized persons in the phone list, and the GPS comes in handy as well… The other inherent feature is the educational component of learning how to tell time and dates… She merely checks her watch when needing to add the timeframes on her homework…The additional plus: it works on the Verizon Network as well!I recommend the purchase of this watch, especially since the awards app incentivizes good behavior. The watch has lots of great features that doesn’t distract from the core idea: Safety, Communication and dependability. I feel It’s a good investment in our little girl.

It works!
It works with at&t. Easy to set up with a sim card. Did have to call customer service for a few things but they were so helpful and stayed on the phone with me while I got everything updated and activated. I had to restart the watch twice to get the signal to connect from at&t. I can't say enough about the easy app it comes with either, and I can keep track of my 6 year old who isn't ready for a phone. The location tracking is awesome, and she can call me anytime. It also has a school mode so she can wear it to school without it being an interruption. She also doesn't have the ability to add her own contacts or receive calls that are not in her contacts, which I love. No internet browsing either. So if you're looking for a watch thats reliable that connects to your GSM network, look no further. And if you have at&t its only $10 a month to add a line for a watch. Seriously love this thing. I will say the charger could use some work, I charge it for her as it's very finicky. Otherwise though it's pretty great as is.After one year...The watch band was broke off and they wouldn't replace it. So we bought a new one but couldn't buy them anywhere in the US they stopped selling them. So we ordered a brand new one in the box off ebay as that's the only one we could find. The sound stopped working a week into purchasing it. We contacted the manufacturer who would not replace it because we didn't buy it from them or Amazon. Which was impossible at the time. Wasted $340 on these watches. So we just bought a Samsung Galaxy watch 5 and that's what my daughter wears now.

Very Happy 7yr old
This was a present for my 7yr old. She is loving it. Everyday she has to call an aunt or a cousin to just say hi to them. I like that I can control who she is allowed to talk to and that it is connecting her more to her family. She is very busy always at girl scout events or going places with grandparents so this gives me piece of mind knowing where she is. I t did not work with Metro by T Mobil so I did set it up with the company Jumpy by AT&T. It was easy to set up.

Great watch but beware the charger that comes with it
We did a ton of research before buying this watch for our almost-9-year-old son and, for the most part, are happy with it. It has some excellent features and met the most important criteria we had (it has to work internationally since we travel fairly often).I want to give more stars but the cons I've listed below are fairly major IMO and the company needs to improve these issues - especially since this watch is more expensive than most! Ultimately, we're happy we went with this one over the other options out there for kids but since we made our decision partly based on the reviews, I wanted to provide our take here for anyone else considering the Adventurer:Pros:- the GPS locator works internationally as long as you have a data plan for travel. Before buying this, I contacted tech support for some other watch brands and was told by all of them that their GPS feature does not work outside of the US. If you don't travel overseas then this obviously won't matter but having peace of mind knowing where our son is in a foreign country was paramount for us.- We were able to add the watch and its phone number directly to our Verizon plan instead of having a stand-alone plan- We can set multiple safe zones so my son could leave his friend's house in the neighborhood to head to the pool and we'll get the alert that he's farther away- You can block any incoming calls/text messages from numbers that aren't programmed into the watch- Our son gets excited over the reward system - he loves to feed the dog now in the morning and get a star for it!- You can set "school" hours and turn individual features on/off. We kept his texting live but blocked phone calls. We tested it by calling him during these hours on a school holiday and sure enough, couldn't get through.- We love the activity tracker/step counter. He's so proud of himself when he's hit his daily goal- This watch is durable and sturdy - easily stands up to a young boy who bangs himself around without a care in the world for what kind of damage he can inflict- the SOS calls emergency numbers that have been programmed into the watch, not 911 unless you've added that. To activate the SOS, you just have to swipe up on the first screen so it's easy to access. (This could also be a con since it's a tempting feature for kids to play with!)Cons:- The charger that comes with the watch broke the first night we got it. One of the charging prongs got stuck in when we went to charge for the first time so now you have to flick it out with a fingernail each time and then fiddle with it to make sure the watch is actually charging. More than once we've come down in the morning to find it didn't actually charge and the watch died overnight. We've just ordered the charging stand so hopefully, this will be solved but I'll edit my review when I know more- The battery life isn't great. At full power, we get about 1.5 days before I get the alert that it's down to 15% power. And this is with the locator updates set to 15 minutes - more on that next...- The locator update timing options aren't great. We have it set to 15 minutes because anything less than that drains the battery faster. The problem with this comes when my son leaves the safe zones, sometimes it's quite awhile before I get the alert. If he were to ever be kidnapped or get hurt outside the zone, 15 minutes makes a huge difference! Yes, I can locate him myself anytime I want/need through the app but it's not like I'm routinely thinking I have to search for himOverall - I don't think there's a single watch out on the market yet that does a stellar job. They're either missing one or two great features or they're insanely expensive for what you get. Hopefully, the stand that we've ordered fixes our charging issues and if it does, then that will go a long way in making us happier with this watch. Our son loves it and it does have a lot of great features!
