Real Deal
Great story line about a family and their struggles. Interesting how it was handled with the mother regarding her being missing.

and is a perfect blend of heart
4 StarsReal Deal is the first title in the new series the 'Single Dad's Club' by the writing duo of Piper Rayne. Cat and Marcus' story is well written, told in a dual point of view, and is a perfect blend of heart, heat and humor. This pair of characters were quite intriguing, some of Marcus' personalities traits I didn't love, but I didn't hate him either, whereas I found Cat to be quite endearing. I found Marcus to be quite guarded, and private, and he has issues with trust, due to his past relationship. The age gap between Cat and Marcus was on the bigger side, but I still felt the connection and chemistry was believable and intense. The love scenes that this pair share are incredibly hot, and steamy!I've got to admit, I haven't read many books of the single father trope, but really quite enjoyed this sweet and sexy story and I thoroughly adored Lily's character. The overall banter was fun, flirty and humorous.I thoroughly enjoyed the side characters, and eagerly await their stories. Although this was my first time reading anything written by Piper Rayne, it definitely will not be my last. Overall a really enjoyable read that i'm sure contemporary romance lovers will really enjoy. I can't wait for the next installment in the Single Dads Club.

Fun Read
Real Deal by Piper Rayne is a fantastic contemporary romance. The Piper Rayne duo has produced a book that is well-written and furnished it with outstanding characters. Marcus is a single dad since his wife walked out him and their daughter Lily. Cat is Lily's counselor at the day camp and has a short but humiliating past with Marcus. Marcus and Cat's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle and a little suspense. I enjoyed reading Real Deal and look forward to reading more from Piper Rayne in the future. Real Deal is book 1 of the Single Dads Club Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

This one has me conflicted.
3.5*Real Deal is the first book in a new series by Piper Rayne, all featuring single dads and the women they fall for. I loved the idea of this - the single-dad trope is one I've recently started to search out more of, as it doesn't seem like there are enough of them out there. So I was excited to see that there would be 3 books to this series.I really enjoyed the Modern Love series and I hoped this would be more of that same funny yet heartfelt feel. I mean come on, single dads- what's not to love??? I was expecting the swoon factor to be out in full force. But honestly, this has been a hard one for me to review. I keep writing and deleting, writing and backspacing. There are parts of this book that I really loved, but just as many I didn't.I loved that Marcus is a doting and caring dad to his five year old daughter, Lily. I loved that she comes first in all aspects of his life. They have a really sweet relationship and you can definitely feel the love between them. But I didn't love how he would constantly put her off when she asked about her mommy. It bothered me and made me sad for her when he'd push her questions to the side, not wanting to talk about it until he was ready. I realize she's 5 and wouldn't understand the truth about where her mom was, I just wish he had sat down and talked with her sooner.Cat is someone from Marcus's past, who shows up in their small town of Climax Cove and ends up being Lily's camp counselor. This causes some tension, because their history is not a pleasant one. But Marcus sees Cat in a different light, now that she's all grown up. And even with the obstacles he puts out there for himself when it comes to her, he can't let the attraction go. For Cat, getting over the past is not that easy, since she's the one who was hurt and humiliated. But once she's able to forgive him for that situation, a whole new set of issues pop up between them.Marcus and Cat's relationship was just kind of iffy for me. I don't know if it's the age difference, Marcus's attitude, or what exactly, but I wasn't really invested in these characters.I also have a problem when a character I've loved in a previous book makes an appearance and is shown in a completely different light- one that makes me not like them. I find that so frustrating, and so as not to spoil anything I won't say who it is, but it was disappointing for me.I wish I could say I'm excited for the next book in the series, but if it's Dane's story I'm not sure it will be any better. I don't mind a goofy, over-the-top friend, but I think Dane's character was just too over-the-top. Everything with him seemed like it was a joke, and a not very funny one. I'm not sure if it's possible to make him loveable.I was just sadly left feeling underwhelmed with the whole story.Overall, Real Deal is a light easy read, with really not much drama, that I'm sure will appeal to many.

Their best collaboration yet!
This writing duo gets better and better with each new story! With the first book in their new Single Dads Club series, they've brought us a more serious contemporary romance with a splash of their classic humor and insanely sexy men. Marcus was the perfect mix of protective father, control freak, and hot, sexy, dirty-talking lover. Cat didn't stand a chance of resisting his charms. Likewise, Marcus was in way over his head with this forward, sweet, loving, and gorgeous woman. Their chemistry was off the charts and banter was fun, flirty, and scorching. I loved every moment of their journey to happily ever after. In addition to Marcus and Cat's romance, I adored the family dynamic that was so natural among these two and Marcus' daughter, Lily. She and Cat had a wonderful and beautiful connection all on their own.Piper Rayne always builds wonderful worlds and relationships around their main characters. Each person plays an essential role in the development of the story as well as that of future couples. And of course, Piper Rayne had to include that one outrageous friend. Dane is the male equivalent to Lennox in this trio. He was necessary to breaking up the seriousness of Marcus and Garrett. Then we have the three girls, Cat, Ava, and Charlie. I have a pretty good idea what their futures hold with these dads and their kids. These new friends are going to have their hands full. Ha!!! And if you've read the Modern Love series, you'll feel right at home catching up with Cat's family and the other ladies from that series, especially when she introduces her new friends to my favorite hashtag, #unicorncock; now they've added two new ones-#groincleavage and #sexpack.

Funny, heart rending and unputdownable.
Loved the characters. A dad who will do anything and put his little girl first even give up his love to allow her a chance to succeed. What's not to like. Plus great sexy moments too!

Hot read with HEA
I loved it! Well written, well developed characters, funny, sexy, this book has it all! I loved how Marcus cares so well for his daughter and is actually also a really nice guy while being really hot too! Catarina you gotta love, she is sweet, funny and loves not only Marcus , but his little daughter too. Throw in some other hot single daddies that don't know how to behave themselves and a couple of cool and feisty roommates and you have yourselves a story!
