Love Boat: Season Three Volume One

I'm so EXCITED and HAPPY they're finally releasing the next season of The Love Boat. I grew up watching reruns on TV Land and this brings back great memories from my childhood. I'm so glad we're able to buy our beloved shows on DVD to add to our collection. Makes it even more special and worth the price. I'm a devoted DVD collector of old shows and movies. Have over 800 DVDs I think in my collection and will continue to add to my collection as many DVDs as I can possibly find space for especially now that most of my DVDs are in DVD/CD storage binders I placed them in before moving and having to downsize. A lot of people collect DVDs now. It is a big thing so while I can understand people's frustrations at having to buy 2 volumes for the same price, they should remember not everyone has cable and prefer to watch their shows and movies the modern way. I much rather own DVDs than watching shows/movies on Netflix or downloading them from iTunes or Amazon Stream. Why watch them on a computer, tablet, etc when you get to experience watching shows/movies the way they were meant to be seen before streaming sites ever existed? If you prefer to watch The Love Boat on ME-TV that is fine and as it is a free country, it is your right to do so. However I think writing a review just because you are outraged at having to buy 2 volumes of one season of the same show for the same price instead of a box set with the entire season for just one price is bad for DVD sales. We had to wait for years for them to finally release the next season so I think the decent thing would be to keep your frustration or anger to yourself so us collectors can continue to buy and view these classic shows the way we prefer. As another The Love Boat fan pointed out, ME-TV only shows seasons 1-5. Now that Paramount releases the show on DVD you finally have a chance to view the entire series so please get out and encourage other fans, who are interested in owning this fabulous and timeless show on DVD, to buy both volumes so the sales will do well to convince the studio to release more of the show on DVDs on a yearly basis until all all of the seasons have been released. I don't want to have to wait another 8 years again or more for season 4 to be released if it can be helped. I know all fans of The Love Boat, who will be adding season 3 to their collection, feel the same. Decent, well written, classy, and enjoyable entertainment. My mother and other original viewers from back in the day will never ever find shows like this ever again. They deserve to live on for generations to come so please let us fans continue to enjoy and watch our shows the way that makes us feel we're taken back in time. These are the kind of shows more of my younger generation need to experience. Reality shows are not everyone's cup of tea. Modern TV isn't entertainment in a lot of people's minds. These shows from the past are.

Volume one of season three of "The Love Boat" continues the adventures of the crew of the "Pacific Princess", secures Jill Whelan as a permanent cast member, and revises the introduction to have Ted Lange do the famous "double point" over his cocktail concoction in the opening credits. As has been said many places, this is not intellectual television, but it is feelgood TV that's relaxing to watch. Watching for guest stars is half the fun of the episodes, and trying to figure out their character arcs in the first five minutes is another fun game to play (I get it right about 90% of the time; unpredictable it is not). The show is consistently fun, with a couple of subpar episodes, but overall is a fun romp that should satisfy anyone looking for light entertainment.

Love Boat Season Two was released in August 2009; Season Three came out January 2017. Since fans of the show had to wait over seven years between seasons, I expected Paramount/CBS DVD to put more effort & attention to detail in their product. I haven't had the set for long, but below are some issues I've already noticed.1.) The Sound doesn't always match up to the video (scenes in episode 4 w/Richard Kline were very noticeable.)2.) Disk 4 has four episodes but only included 3 promos to review.3.) The picture quality wasn't refurbished to it's full potential. (Many scenes still had 'dust' appear in frame)4.) It seemed that the 'promos' video quality wasn't refurbished at all. (Color was noticeably faded and dull)5.) The answer provided for Trivia Question 8 is not entirely correct (Skipper/Alan Hale should also be included).However, I realize these faults are relatively minor. I am still happy with the set & enjoy each episode. I would buy it again & I'm still looking forward to Season Four. The Five Stars is based solely on the quality of the Love Boat show itself, but the Home Video treatment probably only deserves Two Stars.

Love this show! Its worth every dollar.Can't wait for season 4! I just recently bought this on DVD.& I stick mainly to the older shows. This show something to watch. & it might just make you stop & think a little bit. To me while watching the show it seems like the most positive way for couples to work out a relationship. The show is funny & Brilliant!

This is a great show from the '70s and early '80s. The only thing I don't like about it is that they split the seasons up in volumes. That can become costly. Sell the complete season and one package.

We watched The Love Boat when I was a kid with my parents. I am now an avid cruiser with 138 days at sea. I was 37 the first time I cruised (much older now)...but I knew I wanted to take a cruise as a kid, but it seemed so unlikely! These episodes are just fun, simple times, filled with the stars of the day and some who had longtime careers before their Love Boat appearance. Happy TV!Fingers crossed they release seasons 4+ soon!

It is still fun to watch, we can see again some actors from that time, it is gentle and without violence.

One of the good seasons because Vicki started with the show and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were on too. But love Ginger Rodgers and Bill Dailey and charo too. Awesome season.

The dvds are good and good quality but the case was damaged with the dvds loose. Fortunately no damage.

I had high hopes, but no good, it is not compatible with UK region DVD players, which was a major bummer.
