Great Customer Service
I have tried this unit and it works GREAT for both mixed drinks and beer. What I was was most impressed was their Customer service, I had a minor issue with my original unit and called the company. I received a return call within a few hours from the Owner of the company and he went above and beyond to rectify my problem. Would definitely recommend.

New Delivery
The request for the review of the product comes extremely early because I just received square keg, one day Prior. The product packaging and delivery was superb. The directions are extremely user-friendly. We’re going to set up is extremely easy. Looking forward to using my new toy.

Square Keg doesn't respond to you
I feel I am being ripped off. I bought the keg through Amazon, can't return it through them. Bought it for my son but he can't use it. I want to return it but can't through Amazon. Have emailed squarekeg twice, no response at all. I called, no response either. I am really upset and frustrated. I only wish Amazon would help me but they won't.

Listen to me - not the video or the manual.
The manual that comes with this unit is utter crap and the video explaining how to use it is mediocre at best. -1 Star for terrible instructions.Step 1: Use thread tape when attaching the regulator to the cap - it will leak if you don't.Step 2: Use keg lube on the cap seal - it sometimes leaks if you don't. It is also MUCH easier to screw on if you do this.Step 3: Purge at ~3 PSI at least twice (wait ~5 minutes in-between purges and make sure you turn the regulator completely down before you pull the purging plug).Step 4: Charge to ~10 PSI and refrigerate.Step 5: Agitate the keg periodically. Be sure to maintain the ~10 PSI because agitation will slightly lower the pressure in the keg (that is the result of the CO2 dissolving into the solution).Step 6: Maintain ~10 PSI for 6 hours minimum (8+ is best).Important Note: If you are just storing an already carbonated beverage, then it will likely not take 6 hours to charge. However, if you want it to be properly carbonated, you will still need to charge it for at least a couple of hours - because you will always lose a not insignificant amount of the carbonation simply by pouring the beverage into the keg.Step 7: Dial back the pressure for the first pour and then maintain it at ~5 PSI for serving.Step 8: Use the rubber cap to cover the tap when not in use because it will drip (as all keg taps do).Step 9: Don't expect more than 1 week of carbonation (at best) from a single CO2 cartridge. (I use it for homemade hop water that I generally finish in 2-3 days, so this is perfect for me)If you do these things - the unit works as it should. I had to waste the 3 CO2 cartridges it came with just to figure all of this out. Don't make my mistakes and you will have a 5 star experience. Also, if you are kicking the keg within 2-3 days (like I do), you can generally use the same CO2 cartridge to purge your next batch - don't expect to be able to do another full charge with it, however.AS A BONUS, here is my base hop water recipe:1 Gallon of water2 Tbsp of lime juice25-37g fresh hops or 5-7 g dried/pellet hops (I like it hoppy - so I use the higher end)A pinch of saltPut the hops in a hop sack and steep in the water for 6 hours minimum (Ideally, I shoot for ~12 hours).Adding a pickle pebble into the hop sack helps keeps the ingredients submerged (this is especially important if using fresh hops because they like to float).Add additional flavoring into the hop sack as desired - experimenting is a part of the fun. :-)Follow my above instructions to properly carbonate the hop water in your mini keg.Enjoy.:)

Space saver
This keg kits so nicely in our fridge, which is on the smaller side. We use it for making hop water. It’s so nice to have!

Doesn’t work with all beverages
Tried to use non-carbonated beverages and it doesn’t work. The taste is horrible. Very disappointed with it. And you can’t return it, very expensive product that didn’t work as we had hoped.

Manage your expectations. I really wanted to like this…but
Saw it on TV and got it for Xmas. Excitedly, I filled it for my party that Sat. night. Worked good, people enjoyed it. Next day the frig was full of beer. The nozzle drips. Monday I went to have a beer and it was already going flat. Not all the way there yet, but the flavor was compromised. Contacted Sq Keg. They offered to refund or send another. I thought I’d give it another try. Second keg also leaks from the nozzle and goes flat in about 2 days. I ask for a return ship label to send it back (they offered to take it back once remember?). They said no. They said, “pay to send it back and we’ll evaluate for a partial refund”. I asked if I pay shipping would they guarantee refund and the answer was “we’ll evaluate for condition and may offer a refund or partial refund”. They claim, “we’re a small company” who apparently can’t afford to stand behind their product. They also told me that leaking is inherent in even commercial taps and that their solution was the black rubber cap for the nozzle. I see that now, but it’s not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. I guess I was supposed to just figure that out.Bottom line? If you’re having a party it’s fun (hence 3 stars). If you fill it with your fav craft beer expecting to enjoy it over a week, you’ll be disappointed. Use it on the patio. If you put in in the frig put a towel under it. There are lots of options on Amazon for small refillable kegs and a much lower price. These alternatives even have the exact same regulator and tap. There is nothing magical about this except the cost is double. I’ll likely eat this and use it for a few parties. Expensive lesson in not looking around for alternatives.
