This was bought as a gift, but it was absolutely beautiful. The box is extremely great, and you can even use it to put small things in. The mug was extremely lovely, and had that nice ceramic feel to it. It’s safe to wash, and I haven’t had any problem with it except once. I’m not sure how, but there was a small chip on the top of the mug. It never bothered me or the recipient, and the mug is still perfect after many washes despite the chip. It’s absolutely perfect as a gift, and I highly recommend this product. If you don’t want the mug, the box is still of equal value. Everything is amazing.

I actually bought one of these from another vendor just because I loved the box, then bought more, one of which was this one. The box is now a nice little design touch in my home and I keep doodads in it (things that are small and have no other place) - the mug is large and a wonderful shape and beautiful. I love this and other mugs from the same company.

This is a beautiful mug. The colors are true to the picture.However, it is NOT bone china. It's a regular mug. And it's kind of a miracle it made it because there was no packing at all in the shipping box.However, it made it through and will be a Christmas gift.

Got this as a gift for my MIL for Christmas... she loves peacocks, so this was a big hit! She and my FIL have coffee together every night; I got a coffee cup for her, a coffee cup with a different design for him, and a package of gourmet coffee cookies. Along with a set of stamped vintage spoons... picked out a nice, small basket from HomeGoods (which she has repurposed) and shrink-wrapped my custom gift set. It was fun to put together and the thought was appreciated... thank you for getting my ideas flowing with this beautiful mug!

The distinguishing feature of porcelain or bone china is that it is translucent - and most porcelain mugs are fairly thin. This mug is thick, dense and just ordinary ceramic. So yes, the box is nice, the design is nice, but I can buy ceramic mugs anywhere. I was specifically looking for porcelain and this is not it.
