Works well in electronic version
I like Nigella’s approach to food and cooking. She’s not a chef, but she does have extensive experience in cooking and worked in Europe in her younger days. She brings a warmth and passion to everything she prepares and this is reflected in the dishes she presents. There’s no arty farty half size portions with a smear if jus to embellish. Or fanciful desserts that make look pretty but take an age to perfect. This is good, honest home cooking. Something everyone can tackle, regardless of experience and be certain the end result will be delectable. I enjoy the way she writes about food and in this volume, she looks into Christmas traditions and festivities.I prefer hard copy cookery books, but spotted this electronic version on offer at 99p and couldn’t resist a bargain. It works well on kindle, but it’s even better on a tablet where the beautifully co,used photos are set off well. Hyperlinks work well and it’s easy to flit from one section to another. It’s packed with ideas and although I have literally hundreds of cookery books, this is a welcome addition, full of new ideas. I love it.

All Year Festive Brilliance That will Never Be A Turkey.
Have to be honest, I'm smitten. I just love Nigella since I saw, then bought, Nigella Express. Why? Well probably it's because I was recently diagnosed with Coeliac Disease, and needed to think about cooking differently. I had a kitchen re-fit, found Nigella, and she showed me the way. So instead of food being 'illness management' a joyless, stressful challenge, I've adopted her sensuous, indulgent, life affirming attitude and just go with her flow. Bliss. There are 2 things I love about about both of these books.1. Everything recipe is beautifully illustrated.2. It's so easy to create gluten free recipes! She seems hardly to use any flour, most sauces are 'mix+boil+serve' rather than roux based. Gluten free info is added where necessary.'Christmas' is stacked full of delicious treats, snacks, shortcuts and tips on preparation, presentation and 'function' management, aimed at you having as enjoyable time as your guests and family. However, this is not just a Christmas book. It's a manual for year-round entertaining. For instance, her Christmas Puddini Bobbons have resurfaced. Made with a shop-bought gluten-free fruitcake decorated with marzipan hearts as Valentine (Puddini) Bonbons and are likely to become Birthday Bonbons as well. :)I cannot recommend this highly enough as one of the best presents you can give yourself for next Christmas. Once you've dipped in and wallowed in Nigella's sumptuous wisdom, you'll be buying it the following year as presents for your friends you value the most.Writing this makes me think, I must take a gander at Forever Summer.....

Fantastic inspirational Christmas food book
Great ideas for food and drink both for the build up to and during Christmas (good leftover tips too). I cook a lot and found this book great for upping my Christmas game. Good food photography.

Worth the purchase.
I have the kindle version so I can make notes and bookmark pages. My mum loved the rocky road so that was a hit! I would have liked to have known in the CRANBERRY, ALMOND AND HONEY GRANOLA recipe what size baking sheet to use. I didn’t like the POMEGRANATE MARTINI and the ingredients are expensive so I think it would have been been a good idea to have more recipes using the ingredients such as Pama pomegranate liqueur - fortunately I found a delicious recipe using 2 parks Pama and 3 parts apple cider with a cinnamon stick and for the Grenadine I noticed on reviews on a supermarket website that said the Grenadine syrup tastes nice in milkshakes.

Nigellas Christmas Cookbook
Been on my list for ages but it was always very expensive since it’s an older book and expensive as I’m not in UK but finally found a good price. Paper quality isn’t very luxurious but better than my print outs and notes. Glad I got it this year before Christmas as I always remember during Christmas prep and say grrrr next year hahaha Lots of good recipes. I usually make from her videos etc as I can see her methods. Lots of cookbooks recipes just don’t work for other altitudes/water/flour/ etc so always tweaking things but most of these have been tired and tested over the years

Oh, Nigella
Nigella Lawson does we she does best: cooking. Without trying too hard, without being tedious, without coming up with ingredients you'll have to hunt down or methods that will have you beat by the time you can finally sit at the table.Simple - yet elegant - and as always fully packed with tips and insights only a true kitchen royalty can provide. If you have only one Christmas cookbook, make sure it's this one.
