This overall is a very convenient for cutting 85% of pill sizes with ease, for this i would rate it 5 stars. For a very small pill into 1/4s i would rate it 3 stars. The main issues is the spring locking of the pill is not as secure for a very small pill. With that the cut is alittle sloppy with crumpling. I tried and tested eight different cutters specify for these very small pills i needed cut into 1/4s, this one came in 2nd place. To be fair to this product I'm not going to list the winning cutter. Message me if you like to know that information.

If you have a kitty who takes amlodipine and are trying to find a way to quarter this notoriously difficult- to-split tablet don't bother with this. I was so hopeful. But like every other pill splitter does with amlodipine tablets you get uneven quarters and there is no way to work around this problem with this splitter. However, it is great with other tablets and is just a fun little gizmo!! But I bought it specifically to try and evenly split the difficult amlodipine and for this, sadly, it does not work. But it is still a good purchase and does the job with the other meds my kitty takes.

The first pill came out OK. The next 3, was like the blade was too dull to cut. The second pill, 3 quarters came out right, the 4th was crushed. On the next pill, 3 quarters was crushed, and the 4th pill, the photo, shows that all 4 quarters were crushed. I noticed the blades are quite thick for pill cutting. These pills aren't cheap, so I'm not willing to risk a hit or miss on cutting the pills. My cheap $6 half pill cutter I was using cuts better even after 11 months of use. I'll stick with it.

It does cut although when taking a closer look, the pill has very jagged edges. The idea is great but this product is poorly designed. There are crevices where the pill dust or small pieces can get trapped in or stuck in the lower portion of the contraption. My daughter will not swallow the cut pills do to the rough and sharp edges this cutter creates. We will be returning it and sticking to the old fashioned kind.

I bought this to cut scored pills in half and even quarter some. It literally disintegrated the pills. The pills weren't useable. I checked it out good to see if I could adjust it and no it was just the way it was made. I tried it several times. I highly advise against purchasing this one. I threw it in the trash.
