This rail looks bigger in the picture but actually it’s about 20” wide. Even though it’s small it withstands up to 300 lbs! It also is a terrific price as it’s way way less than the other overpriced rails. It installs simply, assembles easily and works wonderfully! Good solid steel tubing slides way under the mattress and it’s width, though 20” stops a full grown adult from moving it, bending it or shoving it out of the way! The strap? If you’re a namby pamby baby and can’t figure out a simple strap just go to YouTube and there’s plenty of videos to watch and hold your hand to attach it. However, you won’t need the strap once you shove the long bottom tubing under the mattress. The strap is overkill and included to satisfy people who need assurances. Buy this, I did and it was delivered to my door 4 hours later! We love it and my wife didn’t fall out of bed last nite! Lol! Sorry honey; I had to slip that in. Steven, Denver, CO

Bought this for my mother. It works great! Easy to put together and install. It really helps her get out of bed!

I like that this is a short bed rail as my elderly mother is still able to get out of bed, and this deters her from rolling off the bed (we have it close to the top of the bed where she tends to roll off her pillows). Easy to assemble and seems sturdy. Size height is adjustable as well. We keep it on the shorter height. Side pocket is nice for her to put her tv remote control or a small book.

This is a very convenient bed rail it assembled easily and can be moved to any part of the bed as needed. The little pocket to put things in is very handy

Sturdy, well made product. Instructions are minimal (pictures only) for assembly but NO instructions (or pictures) on what to do with the long strap, leaving one to assume it goes around and under the mattress to hold the bar in place. Since it fits well under the mattress, I didn’t find the need to use it. The bar works well for helping to get into and out of bed.

So easy to put together and having the pocket is a real plus. Yes we are old both of us. My husband was having trouble getting in and out of bed. This so easy. And safe for him I like it so well just now ordered me one.

The storage area needs to be on the inside near the bed for ease of seeing and accessing items placed within it. This picture is of the back of the storage area, facing the bed, requiring one to reach over the bar, unable to see and feel around to access items. At least two people are required to install, with one lifting the mattress and the other placing the rail under it and securing the strap. The rail is sturdy.

I love it . It's a great help getting into and out of bed. Memory foam mattress is like a dark hole so this helps get out.
