God's Superheroes: Amazing Catholic Women

Awesome book. Not for little kids, but perfect for middle school and up.

Got as a gift. My 13 & 14 year old girls can't set it down. So much to learn for the young and old about these fascinating women of Faith .

This book was a great way to not only introduce my children to some inspiring dynamic superheroes but also to addtress some questions they may have about some Catholic topics such as the power of the Eucharist, why bad things happen, being prolife, the role of Our Lady, social justice, and the some of the great things Catholics have done to help people to name just a few. The book also tries to help kids relate by showing that the superheores had many of the same interests and problems that kids of today still experience. My kids love both books and read them over and over. They espcially love the colorful energetic sometimes quite funny illustrations.

This book, and it's companion, (God's Superheros Amazing Catholic Men), are filled with vibrant, true and exciting stories of real people who are great examples of the lived faith, and human enough that kids can relate to them. I have studied saints and taught generations about them, yet there were truly 'Amazing' men and women that I read about for the first time. The superheros written about in these books are from all parts of the world, lived across the past two centuries, came from all different walks of life, are young and old and in between. There are the well know (Joan of Arc) to lesser known (Margaret of Castello). The author's style is clear and interesting. Each story has a sports-card-like illustration with their full name, destination (Saint Blessed, Servant of God, etc), and other stats: Nickname, years lived, Country. A quote is also highlighted for each. It's so well done. Both you and your young adult child will enjoy and be inspired by these books.

I've been searching for a way to get my little girl more interested in the Catholic faith and came across this really well done book. It's easy to read and very enjoyable. Each night my daughter and I read the powerful history of a different woman in our faith. The book is simple enough for her to read at a 4th grade level and is also filled with great illustrations. It gives an exciting look into female figures of Catholicism, their accomplishments and their amazing backgrounds. With so many other things out there trying to affect how children see life and religion, I was thrilled to see how this book has peaked the interest of my daughter. It even inspired her to draw some pictures about some of the saints she read about. If you've been looking material that is safe for your child to read that truly supports the Catholic faith in an exciting and informative way, I would highly suggest the God's Superhero series.

As a kindergarten Catholic school teacher I keep these books on-hand to read to my students especially on feast days. They are very informative and easy to read and understand. The children love the stories and illustrations and it helps them realize that Saints are real people and their stories really happened which is so important to the Catholic faith in a world full of fantastic falsehoods that kids live in today.

I was planning on putting this book and it's companion in my kids' Easter baskets, but they found the box and immediately dove into reading.I love that these books have solid biographies that aren't fluffy or dumbed down.Another win in my book is that many of the women chosen are modern saints, and are portrayed in a way that my daughter can relate to.

We received this as a gift. My daughter enjoyed reading about these saints in a fresh way. She couldn’t put the book down! This would make a great addition for families to introduce the saints to their children.
