Is there any difference between regular Feliway and Feliway "multi-cat" in terms of ingredients?
Can you use the multicat and the regular feliway at the same time?
Why does this product cost more, the more you buy? Totally mystifying, One bottle is $15.49, but three cost $57.81. Makes no sense...
Why are three refills so much more expensive per unit than buying a single - 11.91 for a single, vs. 15.66 per unit for this. WTF?!

I believe it worked!

We have a pair of 6 month old kittens from the same litter who are closely bonded. They are great friends and love to play together. We had recently had the male neutered. He had recently recovered, and been released from his "cone of shame" when we had his sister spayed. She was wearing a soft cone that we had gotten from the vet, so she wouldn't be able to get at her incision. We were told by the vet that her activity had to be very restricted for the first several days after her surgery, and, of course, her incision had to be protected. Since she and her brother like to play rough, we figured we would need to keep her separated for at least the first day or two post-surgery, and watch them carefully after that to make sure they didn't get too crazy, and no one got after her incision.Naturally, the evening of the day she had her surgery, when I opened the door where we were confining her to check on her and spend some time visiting, her brother and our older cat both got into her room. I figured I would let them visit her, and see how it went. They were being sweet and calm, and, after the requisite sniffing was out of the way, they just kind of hung out in the room with us. (Her brother didn't appear disturbed by the cone, and even groomed her face a bit. He didn't act at all weird around her, or like he didn't know her.)At bedtime, of course, my husband and I had to remove the other cats from our girl's room, since we couldn't really supervise them while we were sleeping, and she still needed to be activity-restricted. We already had a couple of Feliway diffusers, one with the Optimum formula, and one with the Classic formula, since we had had to separate the boy for a bit both before and after his neutering, which made no one happy.Sometime during the night, the girl had gotten her soft cone inverted, so it was kind of down around her shoulders instead of around her head. Her brother completely freaked out when he saw her that morning at breakfast. He hissed and looked big and acted like we had a strange cat in the house. It was really weird. I thought maybe it was because the cone was inverted, so I flipped it up so that it was back around her head, like it had been the evening before. Nope. He was still treating her like she was a stranger and a threat. I had a recovery suit I had purchased for her, so we put that on her and took the cone off, to see if it made any difference. No joy; he was still being weird, and we were concerned he might hurt her, so we had to separate them again. We tried periodically letting them interact again to see if he would get over it. Still no joy. By the evening of the second day, I was very concerned. He was not "getting over it". He actually hid under the bed during playtime and treat time that evening. She seemed to have her feelings hurt that her brother was treating her this way, and her seemed very anxious and stressed. (He is already an anxious kitty - thus the other Feliway diffusers we already had running.) I decided I needed to try the Feliway Multicat formula to see if it might help. Of course, I realized this an hour too late to pick up a vial at my local pet supply store, but I was able to order one on Amazon for delivery the next morning. The package came on time, and, shortly after I got up, I brought it in, and plugged in the Multicat vial. Over the course of the day, our boy seemed to gradually calm down. I wouldn't say he was interacting with his sister normally yet, but he was not acting like he was afraid of her, or treating her like a stranger, any longer. As long as we had to separate them at night or when we were out, he would be weird again for a few minutes when they were together again in the morning, but he would get over it pretty quickly. We're now a week out from her surgery, and, even though she's still in the recovery suit for a few more days, her brother is back to treating her like a member of the family, and not like we brought some kind of alien in the house. Sanity has been restored.I knocked a star off on value for money because the refill vials are expensive, almost as expensive as buying a new diffuser kit. I don't think the refill vials should be that expensive. It doesn't provide much incentive to buy a refill, vs. throwing away the diffuser and just buying a new kit when you need one. Not very economical, nor environmentally friendly, Feliway. I would have knocked off a couple of stars on value for money, but Amazon was offering the vial at a discounted price, and the product did work. These products are expensive, and I hope not to need them indefinitely, but, they did help us and our kitties get through a crisis.

Most effective brand!

Best for calming anxious cats. Other brands may be less expensive but may only work for three weeks while this brand lasts longer and is more effective!

They work!!! Pics Don’t Lie, But a Word of Caution…

I got two new kittens for a household with three adult (5 y/o) cats. For the first week, we kept them in my bedroom and swapped blankets sometimes. Then I decided to quarantine the adults and let the babies run around for a bit.Everything was fine until the babies went back in my room and we set the adults free. My biggest boy tried to spray stuff… FOUR times. I kept grabbing him and putting him in the outdoor catio where the litter boxes are. Then I caved and put a box full of fresh litter by the catio door, which he used 3 times in as many minutes with explosive diarrhea. Didn’t want petting or his treats or nothing. I thought he was being a bit of a drama queen considering the kittens’ scent had already been wafting from my room for days (he even watched a few play sessions through a hanging fabric screen door on my bedroom doorframe, which I recommend, AND he walked around smelling the room whenever I was cleaning it and the kittens were in the bathroom). But anyway.I had these shipped overnight. I wasn’t “desperate” exactly… but I was wanting to speed along the instructions if I could, while avoiding the beginnings of an all out spraying war! I have all neutered boys. So I was kinda desperate. I’m a gardener and vegan, yet dislike anything that mimics what’s “natural,” and these either sounded like a bunch of baloney or some kind of pheromone drug, buuuut… good reviews and a little desperation go a long way.I wasn’t disappointed! It’s been a week, 8 days to be exact, and the adult cats have tolerated co-living with the kittens during the daytime extremely well. Are we pals? Well, not exactly, but the older cats tolerate a little batting at their tails and even sharing a cat tower pedestal (for five minutes, but still, they don’t hiss, just leave after that). I think having two kittens to wrestle with each other and burn off that excess energy really helps - ya’ll only getting one kitten, idk what yer thinking, I’ve been down this road several times by now, and the rule is to always get TWO kittens so they can play with each other, guys. So, yes, in my opinion, they are extremely effective. However, a word of warning: each plug-in needs its own outlet. Not both ports, just one, but I guess what I mean is, I plugged two into their own ports and one into one of those industrial-strength multi-outlet strips. Supposed to handle anything. Guess which plug-in overheated?I felt them all at the beginning and end of each day to make sure they were warm and working (slight scent sometimes, but nothing all that noticeable) and one evening, the one not plugged directly into the wall was HOT, parts of the device and wick brown (see pics). The others were normal. So I can only guess that it’s because I didn’t follow the instructions (which specifically tell you NOT to share outlets with other devices). User error. And I can probably guess that lots of these reviews that claim these aren’t safe are also not lending a direct outlet to each one. That said, it’s a deduction, so use with caution and touch them sometimes. Also look at the instructions for placement, because the bottle goes under the plug and I see some pics with it upside down. These are just the refills, not the plugs/kit, which is another silly reason this product is rated lower by some people who don’t read what they’re ordering. The liquid in the bottle is about 1/4 gone after a week, so yes, I’d estimate these last a month. Two thumbs up from me. The star I docked is really just because the product claims to have an internal safety shut-off in the event of overheating, user error or not, but it didn’t really seem to activate in my case and there were some small scorch marks that were basically my fault. Don’t make my mistake!Edit: the new design of the plug makes scorch marks basically a thing of the past. I also like the new “I’m working” indicator light. However, I have taken a more active role in rotating refills every 12 hours, meaning each morning and night, I switch out the refill with a second one that I keep capped under the outlet. This is because the wick looks pretty dried out after 12 hours (see pic with one light / one dark) and I want the diffuser to be able to do its job effectively. Probably an extra, unnecessary step on my part, but. Alternatively, you could probably just unplug it in the morning and plug it in at night, to allow time for the solution to thoroughly soak the wick again before plugging back in. But I like to keep mine going at all times. A bit of a chore, hence the 4/5 stars still, but I do it when I’m doing the other cat chores anyway and we’re all still getting along pretty dang good.

Essential

My 2 female cats, sister, don't get along. This has been very effective in keeping the conflict to a minimum; I can always tell when it's time to replace. The light is not an indicator of fullness, just that it's plugged in; I didn't understand that at first. It's easy to switch containers. I use 2 in a one bdrm apartment and put them in the rooms they're in most of the time.

Cats r cool

This stuff calmed my cat's right down. I have three two males, one female. All are spay and neutered and still have attitudes until I got this product. Keep summit Bay. They lay down and sleep together now that was not possible months ago.
