The Soccer Coaching Bible (The Coaching Bible)

I bought this book when I first began coaching High School soccer. This book covers a variety of topics, most of which were not in any way applicable to my program.I gave this book three stars because I firmly believe that a book which calls itself "The Soccer Coaching Bible" should be far more usable by far more people than just the high-end club coaches (who frankly, probably don't need the help). There were some very useful discussions on tactics and strategy, but for the most part this book has sat on the shelf.Some very big name coaches contributed to this work, and there is a lot of information here, but most of it will be completely not useful to the majority of coaches who could really use a soccer 'bible'.

"Bible" fits. This is a collection of insights and suggestions from dozens of successful coaches and is arranged by author rather than theme. That said, it is an easy read and full of good information for nearly any level of coach.

This books is good but has some sections that are a little outdated.

It's good for new coaches. There is a lot to read, a lot of tips on what to do to become a good coach.However, if you are looking for drills or a program, go surf the internet. There is a lot more and a lot better.

I came across this in the library and decided I had to own it so purchased it from Amazon. It's a good reference guide and has provided some useful drills and insights for coaching youth soccer.

great resource

a covers a lot of information, depicts multiple kinds of coaching types and their effectiveness. very enjoyable and has more content that you would think. didn't realize the book was so thick. a pleasant surprise. buy it and start reading.
