so it's pretty easy to overdo the decibel level
What an excellently crafted gitane! Tone is bright and cuts through with ease, so it's pretty easy to overdo the decibel level. Overall a beautiful instrument that is well-crafted, feels great to play, and has great tone. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone wanting to play lead in gypsy jazz or jazz manouche style. I also recently purchased the GJ-15 which is the Grande Bouche (D-Hole Soundhole) and have noticed that it has a warmer tone and suits rhythm playing more-so because the harmonies have a bassier tone.

Great Instrument for the price!
As an owner of many high-end and vintage instruments, as well as being a luthier, I am quite impressed with the general build quality of the instrument. The joings are all clean, the satin finish is well done, and the frets are crowned quite well. The tone of the instrument is very good also. I was concerned it may be too bright, but it's quite toneful and if you can vary playing technique, you can get a variety of tones and textures from it. An excellent intro, and even a guitar I will use in performing as well.

Most interesting guitar and love it except for the finish of the fingerboard.
This is one of the most interesting guitars I ever played in my 38+ years of life with the strings. I have played Carvin solid electric and custom made nylon acoustic, vintage Fender Stratocaster, Ibanez hollow body electric guitar, Kamaka tenor uke, and other Yamaha acoustic guitars. But the characteristic of this gypsy jazz guitar or manouche jazz guitar is unlike the others. I instantly fell in love with the energetic but delicate sound and the very good playability. The tension and the action are perfect for me. The only problem is that within 10 minutes of playing, my fingers turned totally black. I could feel the finish of the fingerboard is rough compared to other guitars I own and I wonder if that is the way this type of guitar is supposed to be. I would like to hear from the experienced about the finish of fingerboard of this type of guitar. Overall, I am very satisfied with this guitar.

Very playable. Great price.
Very loud. good sound. Great price. VERY playable. Great neck.I was a bit surprised at the very lightweight finish, but I am sure that contributes to the volume.

Great guitar for the price
Great guitar for the price. Plays very nicely. The tone is exactly what I hoped for after slapping some new strings on. Would recommend for new gypsy jazz players.
