A Sinister Gift: 1 (Elenora Bello Paranormal Mysteries) Paperback – 13 Sept. 2021

This book reminds me of the type of stories I read when I was younger; creepy and mysterious. I'm not a huge fan of paranormal, but I really enjoyed this because it has a good balance of suspense, mystery and crime. Slightly macabre in parts too. Social worker, Elenora, and her detective husband are from the present, and the strange man, Rolland, is from the 1800's. I loved the combination of the two eras. I felt emotionally invested in the main characters quite early on in the story. Jacinthe's writing flows smoothly, and the pace is steady. I will be reading more from this author for sure!
