MatizSardines and Octopus Pulpo in Olive oil (Variety Pack of 5)

If you love sardines look no further! Really, just stop reading any more reviews of any more products and buy this. I used to live in Spain for a few years and fell in love with the Spanish cuisine, especially the seafood. My host mother would make fried sardines with lemon juice on top, or simply put sardines on a piece of bread with the oil from the can and top with tomato and lettuce. Yum. I miss it. At my local little downtown Milwaukee Italian grocer, I found these for $6 each. Yes, $6. So I bought the sardines (because they were from Spain and I knew they'd be good) and, of course, I loved them. But I didn't buy them as much as I wanted to eat them bc they were so expensive. Then, praise Jesus, I found them on Amazon!!! Sweet!Positives:--They are very large sardines--3 to a can, so they are meaty--The flavor itself is OUTSTANDING. Just fantastic. You can't compare the flavor to your general store bought sardines. I do eat those, too, but it's like comparing a can of $1 Hunts pasta sauce to the best Mario Batali pasta sauce in the store. The latter is in a different league.--The oil in the can is decent enough to use on bread/crackers.--Price-wise they are a bargain compared to what you are going to pay to get this at a specialty grocer.--The octopus is also very good; much, much better than the general Goya brand that you will find at your store. The taste of the Goya brand is so stale and heavy and gross tasting. This is fresh tasting, not like fresh octopus (pulpo in Spanish) but it's definitely good enough to put on a little salad, add some lemon and olive oil and salt. Best octopus I've had in a can.Negatives: There are none!!!

Sardines and octopus are absolutely delicious! Very high quality for this price point. Best canned Spanish sardines on the market!

Great product. Only thing (aside from the price), is that the octopus tastes pretty much the same as the sardines. It's a great taste, but I do wish the marinades weren't so similar.

These are some great products that have really great flavor. I will be purchasing more of these items.
