Great watercolor tin at a reasonable price!
Nice product at a reasonable price. The half pans are the same ones shipped with the HOME AID Artist Empty 40 Pcs Half Pans for Watercolor Gouache Paint with Travel Tin Palette Plastic Refill , that I also purchased from Amazon. This is good as it allows me to swap pans between the two sets.I used XFasten Flexible Magnetic Tape, 1-Inch x 10-Foot to put on the bottom of the pans. I cut a section of the 1" tape into two 1/2 inch strips, then cut those into squares that fit the bottom of the pans. The adhesive on the tape is very strong, and the magnet strength/thickness is perfect for this application.Using magnet tape allows you to remove the metal bracket that normally holds the pans, so you can put more pans in the case if you want, or rearrange the pans so you can put a waterbrush, and or sponge in the case. Pentel Arts Aquash Water Brush Assorted Tips, Pack of 3 (FRHBFMBP3) or the smaller Pentel Japan Aquash Waterbrush Water Brush Pen, Medium Mini .I was able to fit the smaller Pentel waterbrush into the case, by cutting down the length of cap, and gluing on a thin piece of plastic to seal the cap.Be careful if you do this, as there is very little room to spare between the pointed end of the brush and the end of the cap, when trimmed small enough to fit in the tin. Worked good for me.I Think Pentel makes the best waterbrushes.I put some flexible silicone tubing on the thumb/finger ring located on the bottom of the pan so it would be more comfortable and fit my small fingers better. I got the silicone tubing at my local Radio control hobby shop, it is normally used as gas line in radio controlled gas cars. (make sure you get the rubbery silicone kind, not the hard stiff kind).PS I carry my watercolor tins in a ziplock bag to keep the paint pans moist and to keep drips out of my other stuff. Also handy to put a small pencil/pen and a napkin for wiping color off my waterbrush, in the bag.

A rickety masterpiece
This thing is very light and flimsy. Thin metal, insubstantial hinges..for lack of a better word, it is clackety. This is fine, however, because it is also very light and holds all of my paint. The center strip (meant for brushes) is not wide enough for full-pans (though it does fit sideways half-pans).To fit 9 full pans and 3 half pans in mine, I simply flattened the little strips in the middle and stuck some bluetack to the whole thing. I also stuck bluetack underneath the tray that holds the pans to secure it and limit the clickety clack sounds. It worked wonderfully. This is my new favorite possession. :)

Functional & Compact
This is the perfect little, self-contained travel watercolor palette. I love the tiny paint cubes. There are many cubes for this size travel case to allow for a large variety of paint colors. It also has a good amount of well space for mixing for such a tiny case. Please note the dimensions of this case in the description. It turned out to be much tinier than I expected. Not much bigger than your hand. But, it does pack a lot into such a small space.

After adjustments the tray is great.
Great travel companion but needs work. Adjustments were needed which means it wasn't ready to use when I got it. The biggest problem was keeping it closed. I had to adjust the metal frame inside to make sure the lid is secure and doesn't come open. I had to remove the fold out tray to keep it from rattling. Once my adjustments were made I liked the tray. I like the little finger hole in the back which lets me paint while riding. The little space in the middle for extra supplies is great and the size is perfect for travel.I'm happy I purchased it. I'm a professional artist and I take the tray to art therapy each week. The size is perfect! The inside trays are just fine and are easy to remove and wash. I like using my own colors and arranging them the way I use them. The product over all is good.

Great Buy with added bonus
Same quality as others I have bought for more money. The tray is a bit too loose but can be set in place using poster putty or a strip of magnet. The thing I like the most was that after you open the main cover, you have to open the other mixing tray.... THAT tray does NOT open beyond parallel to the table. In other words, when you mix on that open palette (tray), it is not at an angle so that watercolor does not run out past the edge as it does on so many others. I actually had to bend it a tiny bit to make it a little more open. This is excellent. Lastly for those of us who love to cram as many pans into a palette, this one is able to fit a third row of colors between the pre mounted tracks. I fit 19 half pans and one full pan ( ultra marine) into this palette

VERY Cheap but Serviceable
Very Extremely Cheap but Serviceable: is the best and most consice description of this product. The problems: The little plastic pans for watercolors are all slightly different sizes which makes them not snap flush and some pop out easily as a result. The biggest drawback is the wire/pin that holds that folding smaller mixing pan into the rest of the box, it slides out on it's own at random. And even worse, the two hinges are off kilter and not flush either, which makes it difficult to slide back in. There's serious wear and tear already on the hinges which is worrisome considering having barely opened it five times including the once for this photo. It would also be really nice if there were a designated water space - which might be the pan itself once the water color pans are removed- but with that they don't stay in place so difficult removal process for just that alone. A very poorly made product, but if executed better could be great, I do like the two mixing pan options fold out. I do like the option of snap in watercolor pans (plus the snap in tray they sit on) if only the sizes were appropriate. I will definitely use this thing but judging on the wear and tear, not for long, which is a shame. Could have been way better if it was not so cheaply made.
