I capture rain water for irrigation. These “pre-filter” enough of the detritus from the downspout stream to keep my IBCs free of all but the finest funk. They are sturdy and fit all manner of downspout sizes. The angle of the screen makes them virtually self cleaning. A couple of screws is all you need to hang them so installation is a breeze. They are a simple design that is very effective for their purpose. If assembled properly they won’t leak or drip. The one additional thing I’d do before hanging them would be to scuff them off with sand paper and apply good primer for plastic then a good quality outdoor paint to the exterior. I think this will make them last much longer. Invariably, plastic gets “chalky” after sun exposure over the years. To me, they are well worth the money invested.

The media could not be loaded. This leaf eater is bigger, better than imagined it would be. It catches a lot of debris and does its job well. It's made very well, I know it's going to last and ot was simple to install. I highly recommend this leaf eater. I'm so glad I didn't DIY it!!!

The media could not be loaded. I added this to my rainwater collection for a large particle filter as part of a solution to not use a first-flush diverter. It works well. It keeps leaves and large debris/insects out of the water flow. My primary complaint is that the description is misleading. It seems to imply that it will fit a 3" outlet, but that is not standard PVC measurements. I spent time and money on the wrong converters, which is my fault, before going in to a local store and finding a solution. The only thing that worked was a rubber coupler.

I bought this to use under the downspout in my gutters. It’s being used as the first filter in a rainwater catchment system. It keeps larger debris like leaves, pine needles and grit from the roof out of the water tanks. Well made and works well. My only complaint is that it’s expensive but necessary.

I ordered the RHAD90 Rain Head for 2" X 3" and 3" X 4" downspouts but instead received the RHAD100 model for round pipes. I had no problem returning the products. I had to order the RHAD90 version elsewhere, and installed it. I works great, although the installation requires cutting and measuring a chuck out of the downspout, above by rain barrel diverters. It would have been nice if the instructions specified the length of downspout to be removed, and how high above the diverter the unit should be installed. I had to determine these by trial and error.

I’ve taken it with me to 3 hardware stores and not a single off the shelf fitting works. Don’t know if this is only an issue in America but super frustrating.

You get what you pay for. It is well made and feels solid. Mesh is metal and looks like can withstand a few seasons of downspout debris. Looks good installed.
