Excellent construction, operation, and results
The adjustment ring at the top is the best I've used, and the results from hand grinding are better than electric grinders of the same price.I own a very well reviewed electric grinder that cost the same as this hand grinder, and this hand grinder produces a more consistent grind and better coffee. If you need to grind a lot of coffee every morning (say in an office or for a family gathering), then perhaps an electric grinder makes sense. But for daily use I only grind manually. This grinder works smoothly and is built like a tank. There is no electric motor to give out, and it is hard to imagine that any of the parts could wear out. Given how easy it is to disassemble, however, even worn parts could be easily replaced.

This is the one.
Unless you need espresso precision, this is the one they make a different one for espresso. I had been using a popular Japanese ceramic grinder and it wasn't terrible, but I wondered if it could be better. This grinder said yes, I can honestly say a grinder can make a difference in your morning coffee. The electric spice grinder just destroys any flavor because of the heat, not to even get into the grind size. The ceramic one was a step up, and this is an elevator. It really has improved my coffee and has an heirloom quality build minus the plastic top on the grinding arm. If you made it this far, take the plunge, you won't regret it.

Handle brakes easily
This is my second 1zpresso hand grinder and for the most part they are great grinders for price, easy to adjust grind setting for espresso. I typically like light roast espresso which typically requires a finer grind than dark to get 8-9 Bars on the puck. this grinder let's me jump back and forth from light to dark roast easily. The issue is the wood ball that goes onto the hanle for comfort. It pops on and off the handle, by design. However after about 6 months of use the knob, on both my grinders, stopped locking on to the rest handle and just Flys off. This is quite annoying and sometimes painful when you are in the midst of grinding to have the force applied to lose all resistance, I hit the wall once and since made sure nothing is near me while grinding.

Gets you where you want to go.
Recommend this thing for its ease of use and approachability. Sure, you could spend a lot more for the Commandante and talk in clicks and all that, but this thing is also clicky and will grind to any style. Mainly it up to you and the beans to make it come together—the grinder itself will not be the problem.

Fantastic quality and feel
5/5 on looks, ergonomics, and grind quality. I love how easy it is to adjust and the numbers are very easy to see. The wood knob rotates so turning is easy and ergonomically pleasing. But the magic is in the taste of my coffee. I did a ton of reviews and have compared this to every other upscale hand grinder. I love this thing and happy I got it. Down the line I would love to see replacement burrs sold because the build quality on this thing looks like it can last decades.
