Men's Gel-Venture 6 MX Running Shoes

I bought these from a recommendation online for shoes to use at disney.The shoes fit great and the tread seems nice and grippy. The shoes do run a little warm with normal cotton socks on hot asphault. I am going to try moisture wicking socks to see if that helps.Construction seems good, three months in as daily wearer shoes and no torn seams or peeling panels.I am not sure how good the OEM laces are, my jerk dog ate the laces off one shoe on the second after they arrived.Not tons of heel cusion but I normallyjwear padded inserts for my them park shoes to help with walking fatigue.Newer venture 7's or 8's may be even better, I did not try them out.Takeaways. Fit good, built good, laces are delicious.

These shoes are perfect for anyone who needs a wide shoe. One of the most comfortable running shoes I’ve ever owned. This is my 3rd pair.

Shoes are very comfortable, but they can get very slick when wet. I haven’t fallen but I do feel I need to take my time on certain wet concrete. Haven’t had them for a winter so not sure how it’ll be then.

I have wide feet and I went to many shoe stores before finding the Asics Gel Venture 6 in a 4E width in 2018. The Gel Venture 6 in 4E was the first shoe I've found In probably 10 years that was actually wide enough for my feet. I haven't found another shoe that was wide enough since. Not even the other shoes I tried in a so called wide size. I was tired of getting shoes several sizes bigger and wearing clown shoes that didn't fit rite because they weren't wide enough. I figured as long as the Gel Venture 6 was being sold I would at least know of one shoe I could purchase that would fit. I was wrong. I had the Gel Venture 6's for a year and the outsouls lost their cushion and the insoles lost there support. So I ordered the Asics Gel Venture 6 this time from amazon in 2019. The pair I bought from amazon were the same as the ones I got from the store in 2018. The outsoles and insoles were uncomfortable again after a year but I still kept wearing them. After a year and a half the tread started peeling back from the toe to the ball of the foot. So I glued the tread back on with a flexible epoxy called gflex 650. It worked far better than shoe goo as I have worn them another year and a half. The gflex 650 glue is just now outlasting the original glue asics used to attach the tread. Now Ive had the shoes 3 years and the upper part of the shoes are looking pretty worn and im tired of having such bad feeling outsoles and insoles. Any more than an hour on a hard surface and it feels like im almost standing bare foot. I ordered another pair of Gel Venture 6s on 8/13/22 from amazon and they are a lot narrower in the toe box. I can't stand having my toes squeezed together like that. Apparently some time between 2019 and 2022 Asics changed their mind about what a 4E width is and made it narrower in the toe box. ive recently tried other Asics shoe models in 4E width at the store and they're all too narrow now. I'm returning them and Im back on a quest to try and find a shoe that actually fits rite. I've seen a limited number of 5E widths online of different brand shoes that ill try next. Hopefully I can find something that is made of better quality materials that will last longer. i didn't use these shoes for running and I wear boots at work so these shoes didn't get the pounding a runner would have put on them by any means. I will say the rubber that the tread is made out of is decent for the three years I've worn them. You can see the difference in width in the pictures between the 2019 and 2022 gel venture 6s. Asics if you're reading this, please bring back the old 4E width and please make a shoe that will last a few or more years comfortably. I realize lighter materials almost always sacrifice durability. it would be nice to have a durable shoe even if it was heavier. Another reason its so hard to replace the Gel Venture 6 is that the design of almost all running shoes now have changed for the worse. The new design uses one single piece of stretchy material for the entire toe box. The new designed toe box isn't fitted and lacks any rigidness or doomed shape. it presses down and around your toes tightly and is uncomfortable. This design also looks pretty flimsy. It's just thin stretchy fabric for the whole toe box. I'll probably move to hiking shoes next as a result of the bad new design of almost all running shoes. I really miss the old Gel Venture 6's even with there lack of durability.

Out of the countless items I've bought from amazon through the years, I never would've expected a pair of shoes to be the crowning purchase to persuade me to write my first review, but here's why.For a living I work in a factory under the job title of "Services", what this means pretty much is I'm an assistant supervisor. For example I keep track of cut numbers, sizes, bundle count, product progression, product disposal, mechanical issues, on spot inspection, the list goes on. There's 60 some people from the start of my production lines, to the end, spanned around 26 different sections/stations that I watch over and maintain throughout the day. Everything from moving material/machines, to even going and getting them drinks and snacks. Essentially what all this boils down to is I walk, a LOT. I'm talking you see those Dr Scholl commericals where it's like "John walks 16,000 steps a week and to help protect his feet and back he uses Dr Scholls" and I literally laugh because I do 15,000 steps before my first break at 9 in the morning. I average 25-30 miles a day walking that concrete floor. I've tried almost every pair of insoles, shoes, and the like that you can think of sold between Walmart, Shoe Show, Boot Barn, and beyond. Now here's the reason I'm writing this first ever review...These Asics Gel-Venture 6 shoes are the FIRST and ONLY shoes that I've literally taken them out of the box, put them on, and managed to walk my full shift without having to change insoles or shoes all together. THERE IS NO BREAK IN TIME, they fit perfectly right out the box. I put them on at 5 AM the morning after I got them, and didn't take them off till my shower that night. Not only did they stay comfortable all day during work, but they kept my feet so supported and comfortable that I didn't take them off soon as I got through the door. That's saying a lot, cause even the $200+ dollar pair of work boots I have WITH a 100+ dollar set of doctor prescribed orthopedic insoles in them doesn't make it that far, yea they get me through work day pretty good but they come off soon as I hit the bedroom. These right here I didn't even have to change the "factory" insoles in. I literally took them out of the box, tied them onto my feet and was gone. My feet stayed nice and dry, they didn't fatigue or start straining halfway through the day, nothing.NOW, I will admit, there are some downsides for me and they are as follows:I do work in a factory, and these Asics, as amazingly close to perfection as they are, they are made out of a leather/cloth combination. Slipping a 2,000 pound loaded palletjacket over the toe of these will probably result in toothpaste toes compared to the nice sturdy steel toe of my boots. They aren't waterproof by ANY means. They do have really good grip BUT they are not slip resistant or oil resistant. Luckily my job doesn't require these factors, infact my job doesn't require anything other than "closed toe" footwear hence why I figured I'd give these badboys a try after having several coworkers recommend I get a pair. Another "downside" I would say, and this is more so just personal preference really is, I wish they made medium/hightop versions of these shoes, the extra ankle support would be amazing with these shoes. But yea, if these are requirements you need then you might want to keep looking however personally, I'd say find you a different job where you can wear a pair of these cause they are that amazing, Straight Out The Box!!

I have been looking for shoes that are a little harder wearing after going through 3 pairs of Sketchers in no time. I walk for several miles daily and sadly the sketchers soles wore out in no time. These however are far more robust. The wide fit makes them even more comfortable.Will definitely be buying more ASICS in the future.

Good durable and stylish

Durch seinen breiten Fuß mit hohem Spann hat mein Mann es nicht leicht ein paar gut sitzende Schuhe jeglicher Art zu bekommen.Unsere Turnschuhe kaufen wir immer eine Nummer größer doch selbst der ASICS Gel-FORTE Laufschuh in 42 mit der "2E Width" war meinem Mann zu eng. Deshalb haben wir mit dem "ASICS Gel-Venture 6 Trail Laufschuhe - SS18" in 42 4E EU einen neuen Versuch gestartet und diese sind tatsächlich perfekt. Der Schuh drückt nicht, die Füße treten an den Seiten nicht über und der Turnschuh sieht nach einer Woche nicht aus wie "zu klein gekauft".Fazit: Mein Mann hat sich ein weiteres Paar in einer anderen Farbe bestellt und er ist genauso zufrieden.

Der Schuh hat richtig gut gepasst, normalerweise brauche ich eine 50, aber die 49 war ideal.Schade nur, dass die Dinger nach knapp 6 Monaten völlig am Ende war. Die Sohle abgewetzt, schief und das Futter an der Ferse eingerissen.Die Einlegesohlen waren bereits nach 3 Monaten völlig am Ende.Zum Glück war der Schuh günstig, ansonsten wäre ich etwas enttäuscht

Aber bei der Übergröße 4E habe ich von derselben Firma schon etwas breitere Exemplare gehabt.Finde diese also höchsten für 2E breit. Für den Preis aber kann man die schon behalten, da breitere Schuhe recht schwer zu finden sind.Hoffe beim nächsten Kauf wieder auf fünf Sterne.Besten Dank!
