Surprising Spies: Unexpected Heroes of World War II

Well written with appropriate photos to illustrate the topic the author is discussing. The book is written for a younger audience (maybe 5th - 8th grades) but was a great read for me, and I'm a 64 year old retired English teacher.

Bought the book as a gift but after checking out the first chapter I kept reading the whole book. I loved the fluent and visual style of writing which kept me going from one biography to the next. These are grippingly told stories of heroism and sacrifice of people who decided to use their skills and talents to save their country. Very inspiring and timely subject. A perfect gift.

Great stories of unknown heroes of WW II. It is written for teens but good read for older kids like me (61 years old).
