Useful but needs improvement
These are so helpful to have in the yard. We have a ton of trees and a lot of general yard debris every season - like thistles. The metal tines double as hand takes, making them superior to the plastic disk style scoopers for the tasks I do.While I do use and like these, there are a few things that make them disappointing enough for me to look for a different brand next time. Almost immediately, two tines broke off. While this doesn’t render them useless, it’s annoying. The others seem to have stronger welds and are holding up fine. The second issue is how painful they are on the wrists. They come with nylon- covered “padding” attached by Velcro. The materials hold up to use, there aren’t any pills or snags, so far. It may keep you from getting blisters and that’s about it. My wrists were completely bruised and swollen where the pressure was. I plan to rig something up to make it better. If those thing were addressed there would be a no-brained.

A big plus & a big minus
Picks up my shrub cuttings much better than I expected. Excellently in fact. And much better than my dark green plastic ones that have the wavy edges at the bottom. It’s extremely sturdy so I expect it’ll actually last unlike my plastic ones that are breaking off one piece at a time around the handle areas. However, I agree with other reviewers that this hurts my wrists. By the fourth time I went to pick up a pile of bougainvillea trimmings, the bones on top of my wrists at the outer top edges started to hurt quite a bit. I read another reviewer rigged up some cushioning which I’ll try to do too. Otherwise, I’ll have to seriously parse out cleaning up after I go thru trimming my hedge. I still solidly recommend this product compared to all others I currently see on the market but if you have delicate wrists or bruise easily such as from blood thinners for example, you should pass on these. As someone with a familiarity with manufacturing, I do see why the ergonomics are bad in the handle area. The metal bars at the top against which your wrists rest should be angled but due to the angled tines, it would make a L and R scoop necessary and increase the necessary packaging volume plus risk more shipping damage. But it would also make these the perfect scoops. The metal is too thick to bend and would damage the connecting handle and wrist stabilizer pieces. I was tempted to consider trying. Wish I did metal work.

Very Sturdy
We replaced broken plastic leaf scoops for these. These work great. You can grab larger amounts of leaves with them instead of the plastic. My hands and wrists are small, so I had to adjust my grip a little and wear thick gloves so the wrist bar wouldn't dig into my arms. I then used them for several hours of yard work with no problem.

Hurts to use
My wrist was bruised after use. Needs more padding. I do like how they work.Pick up a lot of leaves and pine needles and you can rake up leaves that try to get away.

Nice Product but.......
these beat the plastic ones I've destroyed.PROS: nice large hand opening. able to pickup a large amount of leaves. Hand grip is sturdy. As I have back issues(fused L3L4) they could be a few inches longer so I didn't need to bend so much.CONS: was missing 2 screws in one handle. The other handle had a stripped screw(both easy fixes). The wrist strap could be angled a little differently as the edge hits your wrist(as others have stated). All in All, these are far better than the plastic ones I've bought. one set was suppose to have a larger hand opening(my 2XL hands squeezed in), and the hand grip broke the first time I used them. another set of plastic lasted a couple of years, one broke then the next year the other broke.I would buy again and recommend them!!!!

so much better than plastic hand scoopers
Our house is surrounded by trees so we get tons of falling leaves during the fall and we also have good amount of Spring clean ups to do in the Spring. I have purchased many rakes for leaves but after raking the leaves into big pile, I would have to put them in the brown bags that our town provides so I had purchased a plastic scooper that looks like a giant gloves, which worked fairly well until they cracked. So I jumped on buying this hand rakes because these are basically the same as my plastic scoopers that look like gloves except these look more like the leaf rakes, except for your hands. I actually feel like I'm a Wolverine when using these but they are really comfortable to hold and makes it really easy to pick up large amount of leaves to transfer them to a brown bags. The claws are made out of steel so they should last much longer than my plastic scoopers and I also appreciate that then handle for grabbing these are made out of wood rather than plastic. Very durable yet functional for picking up leaves from a pile. Highly recommend them and it's a MUST-HAVE for those who have a lot of leaves to rake around the house. 5 out of 5 stars!

Hurts the forearms
I’ve used these items twice. Once for about 20 minutes, and once for about 10 minutes. I like the sturdiness of the rake times, but the red part that contacts the wrist/forearm area was killing me in the area where it made contact with the Ulna bone of the forearm. The pain lasted a couple days - like bruising pain. It seems like the wooden handles could be positioned at an angle, instead of horizontal as they are now, and that may improve it, but that’s a design feature that the manufacturer would have to change. Perhaps padding on the part that contacts the arm could be added to alleviate the torque of the device on the forearms. The item did well at picking up yard debris.
