Great buy first it’s a great book on the history of tattoo stencil s and how they where made and applied then all the line drawing stencil ready to be traced for tattooing.No it is not a bunch of color pictured tattoos of what they’re going to look like this is a book for tattoo artist who want to do traditional sailor Jerry’s threesome put them on and pack that color. If your new orders this be great way for you to learn and practice traditional

It's exactly what it says it is. A bunch of stencils of traditional type tattoos. I'm not much of an artist so I plan to use this in my planner by tracing into there with some graphite paper. I did some experimenting with that so far but I used tracing paper and then carbon paper. I don't know. If you ever have been in a tattoo shop the stencil form and the pictures themselves will be super familiar. I agree it would be nice to have some color guides but realistically there are a ton of pictures of his flash online that you can reference when you really need to and there's really only so many colors that were used at that time. This wouldn't be a book for someone who is interested in history of tattoo or generalized tattoo art unless you're actively doing tattoo. It won't serve much purpose then. The pictures are at times repetitive. It makes me wonder what is in the second book honestly.

This one is totally legit! Loads of all the classics you’ve seen in full color in a raw sketch form. Great reference or source material for legitimate traditional tattooing.

Great book good stencils signature and all they have a good variety I have both volumes I will be buying the third if there ever is one... I wish there was mor stencil collections similar to this one only different styles maybe portraits or cartoons or animals or girly stuff or realistic I don't know but I will be keeping my eye on the market

I got this book to use as a pattern book for embroidery. There are a great many designs, which I liked. What did not work for me, given the nature of my crafts, was that the designs are like sketches. I am sure that would be more desirable if you were interested in the artist's body of work for the art's sake. I was hoping for something easy to enlarge on a projector or trace. The book was too tall to fit on the shelf with my other art references, if that matters. It was nicely bound and printed on glossy stock. Nice quality, just did not suit my personal needs.

I saw some reviews complaining about this book but I found it to be pretty awesome, it was exactly what I expected. Lots of stencils for Sailor Jerry flash. I wasn't looking for a coffee table book which is maybe why those people were disappointed. I wanted an american traditional tattoo stencil book and this one nailed it.If you're looking for a Sailor Jerry book with bright colorful pictures and descriptions, this isn't the one. But if you just want a nice collection of his black and white stencils I'd say go for it, I'm definitely happy with it.

More stencils than I expected and higher quality. More than worth the 22 dollars.

I like the tattoos. I've got a couple that will be on my skin within a year. There was a stencil that I didn't know what it was so I contacted Kate the author and she responded quickly and set me straight.

Really solid collection of classic designs from the original master Sailor Jerry, Norman Keith Collins himself. Goes well with volume two. Enough stuff in here to keep you painting and tattooing for ages.

Excelente qualidade e com uma enorme variedade de desenhos

Si te gusta el tatuaje tradicional, por 10 euros tienes muchos flashes (principalmente pin ups), del que fue uno de los mejores tatuadores de este estilo clasico. Remarcar que son solo prints de los transfers previos al tattoo, por lo que los diseños son solo lineales. Para mi indispensable en mi colección.

Book is exactly as it says it is. If you’re looking for great tattoo references, then this is your book. If you’re looking for finished Sailor Jerry flash, you will be disappointed.

Questo è il secondo di due volumi.Per un esperto o per un appassionato del tatuaggio ma soprattutto per un tatuatore sono due volumi indispensabili. Chi lo apprezza e capisce è soprattutto chi conosce il marinaio "saylor jerry" e la sua storia. Un tatuatore da scoprire con una storia unica e soprattutto il padre del tatuaggio traditional. Una leggenda, un uomo che ha fatto la storia del tatuaggio soprattutto in questo stile "old". Questo libro pubblicato da schiffer il cui autore è "kate hellenbrand", tatuatrice, raccoglie le linee base degli stencil originali del marinaio Jerry, ricalcati di suo pugno su acetato e poi recuperati. Tutte le pagine sono perforate per poter essere staccate per facilitarne l'utilizzo finale. E' presente nella parte iniziale una rapida biografia dell autore e una prefazione contiene poi 4 rapidi capitoli che spiegano: - In cosa consiste la tecnica del tattoo stencil acetato; - Un capitolo inerente a sailor jerry; - Un capitolo che illustra e spiega come viene eseguito lo stencil e l'ultimo spiega cos è lo stencil, riassunti in poche pagine ed in lingua inglese precedono il vero e proprio libro in cui sono racchiusi questi stencil.
