Best bulbs for Grande Lava Lamps (and hard to find)
I dig Lava Lamps, and have the 27" one pictured on my desk at work.Once the original bulb died - maybe 6 mo ago - I kept searching on Amazon for 100W reflector incandescent bulbs, just as recommended for the lamp. Nothing to be found!I tried halogens - knowing they burn hot, I started from 75W then up. Freaky me, I did temp comparisons of bulbs in aluminum-foil-wrapped reflector lamps in my garage (my meat thermometer measured 425). 75W halogen did nothing. 100W halogen made a big orange glob at the bottom, but no motion. 150W halogens (double-enclosed in glass) got enough heat to get things moving, but burned out within two months. Plus, I had to re-wire the lamp w/ 14 gauge wire, as it was drawing too much current. It's not the halogen's fault - they're dome lamps - they can't concentrate the heat they generate upward to get your lava moving. They're enclosed inside, so they implode over time. One needs an incandescent reflector bulb close to the lamp base, pushing all that 100W o' heat & loveliness straight up into your lava. After 6 mo, my old '100W incandescent floodlight' Amazon search finally found THESE!Guess there are enough Lava Lamp Grande enthusiasts out there to correct the search engine :)Just installed the new bulb this morning. She works like a champ: More fluid and intriguing than ever, and she 'wakes up' (going from that first-birth Ridley Scott Alien thingy to an engaging microcosm) an hour earlier than before. These are what I was searching for, and probably what you need for your big-ole Lava.Love 'em.

27 inch Lava Lamp replacement bulb review
I needed replacement bulbs for my 27” lava lamp and I have to say that I am mostly happy with the results I am seeing so far. This bulb is the same Wattage but it has a slightly shorter neck than the bulb that originally came in the packaging. As a result, my lamp seems to be heating/moving a little bit slower than it did with the original bulb. Not a huge difference and I actually like the effect more slightly more than the original bulb. Will probably also increase the longevity of the product over time. I would recommend it because it definitely does work, but if you are looking for an exact copy of the original bulb, maybe try to find one with a longer neck.

Long life span and better quality.
I usually go through these in a very short time frame since I am using it in a Lava Lamp Grande. So I bought this 10 pack and they are much better quality. They have brass bases and the first lamp is still burning, even after long usage time. Very good deal.

Lava lamp review
Specifically for the grande lava lamps, the question is do you want the original bulb or this one? These bulbs work just fine, but the behavior of the lava lamp is different. This bulb results in rather consistent larger blobs. The original bulb typically had a phase where there would be columns of lava, and typically smaller blobs. Overall, I prefer the original and I’m willing to pay for it. These are certainly far cheaper though.

Good quality
Just received my case of bulbs. So far so good. Got these as replacements for my 27 inch grande lava lamp. They are slightly shorter then the original bulbs. However the lamp works great with these bulbs. I let the lamp operate for three straight days to make sure. These bulbs are a better quality and a cheaper then what the lava lamp company sells as replacements. I will update this post when this first bulb goes out to review the life span

Best price and great quality
I’ve had one of these in my bearded dragon’s tank for a month and a half with it on about 10-12 hours a day and it hasn’t burned out yet. Gets nice and hot and last longer than bulbs marketed for reptiles. By far the best price i’ve seen for this many bulbs.

Works, but I did't give it a 5 because I don't know how long they last
