It is controlled by a microprocessor that distinguishes your dog's bark from other environmental noises. On the first bark, the collar applies a short warning tone for your dog. If a second bark occurs within 30 seconds of the first bark, a longer tone is sounded. On the third bark, there is an even more intense tone, followed by a short, mild shock. This pattern is repeated through five correction levels. If your dog continues to bark, a more intense warning tone will be sounded, followed by a more powerful shock. Once the collar progressively makes it through all 7 levels, the collar will stop working for 1 minute to ensure the safety of your pet. During the progression of these levels, if your dog stops barking for 30 seconds, the collar will default back to level one. You can use the (+) and (-) to alter the bark collars sensitivity. The higher you go (+), the more often the collar will give your dog a warning. You can toggle this setting by pressing the (+) and (-) button located on the top of the collar.
