Four great movies and one not-so-good
I had seen the first three Bourne movies in the HD DVD era, so I wanted to replace those with 4K discs and also see the two newer movies. All five look and sound excellent in the 4K/UHD disc format. The first three movies are compelling and exciting as the story of Jason Bourne is revealed bit by bit, with lots of action and plot twists along the way. Then, "The Bourne Legacy" throws all of that away and is "just like the Jason Bourne movies" but comes up with a completely different plot and simply uses various names from the earlier movies while having no relation to them at all, that I could see. So, it was reasonably interesting on its own, with action and suspense, but does not fit into the series at all in my opinion. The fifth movie "Jason Bourne" (which also has Matt Damon in it, like the first three but not the fourth) fortunately goes right back to where "The Bourne Ultimatum" left off and completely ignores "Legacy". So, going back into the original story line, it was much more satisfying and enjoyable.

Great movies
This is a great series of movies, they are intense but so compelling. One thing that was strange--I was watching the first one with my son and it would occasionally display the rating of the movie on the corner of the screen and it said "R". That's incorrect, the first and I believe all 5, are definitely rated PG-13. I still wouldn't recommend them for younger viewers, there definitely is a lot of violence, some of it pretty intense. Also the stories are a bit more complex and layered than some movies so I don't know that younger viewers would get that. I think I would even say like high school age or older for these.

Overall recommended
This is a good collection. While the packaging style is of the shelf hog variety, it's still well done. The 4k video is done over a span of many years, so you can see the evolution of the quality as the series progresses. The audio is similar, in the way that the first three movies, while in Atmos, don't wow. But the next two movies are better in reproducing object based audio. DTSX here does a good job.Content-wise, it's kind of low calorie espionage that's formulaic. I mean, who'd want to be in charge of any of these programs, Jason's just going to end up deleting you. And if you're female, don't be anywhere near the guy. Also, a word about the cinematography: pure trash. The first three films were made in the heyday of what I lovingly call the "seizure cam". The camera will just not sit still, bouncing up up down down left right left right zoom in zoom out like a Konami code. Combat is also a series of cuts, not one fluid shot. I really hated this style of camera work, as it ruined Gladiator and the Battlestar Galactica (among other reasons) reboot for me.Jeremy Renner's Bourne Legacy is my favorite out of these movies. I hope they continue on with his storyline, but its ending was satisfying enough if there are no more.

Fun "action trash"
Lots of unlikely plot twists, virtually impossible survivals and all that sort of thing, but each of these movies is a fun romp to take one's mind of the events of the day. Fun viewing, recommended.
