Great little music player
The kids love being in control of the music, and I love that they can’t wind up listening to some inappropriate songs without having to listen in the whole time. No screen is also a big plus for keeping the focus on the music. Set-up was easy once I installed the app, but hooking up to the PC and adding MP3s was a breeze. I haven’t tried connecting to Spotify, but once we run out of songs from the library that will be next. Plenty of storage for tons of songs, we will run out kids stuff before we run out of space. Nice solid construction too, it seems like it will hold up to the wear and tear of “kid use”.

Hope You LOVE JUMPING through HOOPS! - Great Concept - POOR EXECUTION - Nightmare App
PROS - No screen, great for kids that you don't want on a screen but can still listen to musicThis is where this Jooki gets incredibly frustratingCONS -- Needs WiFi - Forget about taking it on the road, in an airplane, or to your babysitters/daycare. You have to bring the device that has the app, then get the WiFi going, then reconnect to the device. This is NO FUN.- Volume is super WONKY. With corded headphones (which is another whole hassle to finding a non-DAC connector, good luck!) the volume is too high at max, and it's just a poor modulating volume knob.- Not that kids need great sound quality, but I get better sound from my $20 Bluetooth speaker... Like WAY better sound. For a device that costs this much, sounds should be at least average.- The app is SO BAD! Like a 10-year-old app bad. Horrible interface, is hard to manage and control, could be so easy to create something good, unfortunately, it seems the Jooki folks just do not care that much.

Met All Expectations
Got this for our son’s 2nd birthday and has been a huge hit. I was nervous because the accompanying app had very poor reviews, but I found setup of all the tiles and figures to be very easy. My toddler loves having control over which characters play and can easily swap them out on his own. He has been going to this before asking for shows or tv, which has been a huge win for us.The couple of minor points of feedback I’d have would be for slightly louder volume. I’m so glad he can’t blast these songs but the loudest setting is still pretty low. Also being able to set the tiles to shuffle songs from the Jooki itself vs from Spotify would be great. My son loves to swap the tiles and each time the tile with reset to the first song. Last note would be the mechanism (a turning knob) to skip or repeat a song from the Jooki itself is difficult for a 2yr old. Buttons would have been better, but I’m sure he will figure it out eventually.Overall, very very happy with this purchase!

So Close to Awesome
The Jookis are one of the only devices I could find that provided a truly child-friendly Spotify option; a device I could set up, hand to my kids, and let them carry around to listen to all of their favorite music without them having to ask me 100 times a day to play some specific song for them. The problem is, not only did I have a hard time getting these set up, most of the time they didn't work at all. The only way to interface with the Jookis properly is to use the Android app, and if there is any kind of connection issue between the Jooki and the android, you are completely in the dark as to why the device isn't working or how to fix it. In hindsight, after having similar troubles setting up Yotos, I think that the Jookis have issues with certain WiFi networks. In the end, I had 3 Jookis and only ever managed to get one of them to work properly, and that one stopped working after several days. My kids loved them when they worked...but that joy was altogether short-lived.

EDIT: it's working again
I love the idea of this product, it's versatile since there's so much content on Spotify. It took a while to set up, maybe an hour. One step that wasn't in the setup instructions was (iOS) turning on local network for Spotify settings.I wrote my original review when the product stopped working. I emailed support and they did get back to me in less than a day and were actually very helpful! So I feel a bit scared that the software or app might stop working again, however I don't feel like I got a(n intentionally) bad product. When our Jooki stopped working, it had both of the LED lights stuck on orange (WIFI not connected). They told me that it might be in airplane mode. To reset you must power off, hold the knob to NEXT while powering on, until the startup tone plays. I followed those instructions over and over and it didn't fix it. But then I held the knob to next WHILE powering DOWN and back on, and that got it back to proper working order.Original review:It worked for a few weeks. And then overnight the software stopped working. It disconnected from WiFi and there’s no way to reconnect so therefore it’s just trash. DO NOT BUY ONE UNTILL YOU SEE SOME BETTER REVIEWS IN THE APP STORE.

Your toddler can select their own music enjoyment!
This is a GREAT product. It was easy for us adults to create playlists, and the unit itself is easy for our 3-year-old to choose her own music. Watching her dance around the room, singing to her favorites whenever she wants (instead of being stuck with Siri/Alexa or waiting until a parent is home with their phone) makes our hearts so happy. It's a wonderful new addition to her independence.

There aren't enough words to describe how great this is
I bought this for my 2 year old grandson. He was over to figure it all out (to do totally on his own) in a couple months and now a year later, he still listens to it all the time. I bought extra tiles and send him books and then send his parents an audio file of me reading it (and they upload to the account and assign it to a tile). I say "turn the page". It's such a great way to keep your voice in their life when you live far away. There's a jooki tile for everything: classic kids songs, sunday school songs, just Elmo songs, sleepy songs, educational songs. It was the best possible purchase.

Spotify option does NOT work without WiFi!
This player is awesome if you're connected to WiFi, but if you're purchasing it for more of an on-the-go device that utilizes Spotify, don't! After some careful digging and troubleshooting, we finally figured this out. To use it offline, you have to download mp3s and upload through a desktop app to the tokens. We also could not get the headphone jack to work - only Bluetooth headphones have have to be set up through the Jooki app. Major bummer, will probably try the Yoto Mini.

Great Gift
We bought this as a gift for our 4 year old who loves music. He hauls it and uses it everywhere he goes. He finds it super easy to use and operate. What we like about it is it limits the volume which he listens at so he doesn’t damage his ears (and drive his parents nuts!) but the volume level can easily be controlled and the limit shut off to increase the volume using the Jooki app. The different coloured token/tiles are easy to program playlists on to and our 4 year old loves to chose which colours to organize his songs on to. He can insert and remove the tokens from the Jooki with ease yet they stay snug and secure in the Jooki when it is carried around. And yes, you can easily convert and drop mp3 files from iTunes using a computer if you don’t have or use Spotify. This is well made and seems durable. It hasn’t been dropped yet but it would probably survive a short impact fall. The carrying loop is big enough for little fingers to hold securely as well. We were surprised at the size when it arrived. It is bigger than we had originally thought from looking at the pictures but that is good so our toddler can get a firm handle on it. It’s screen free and the nobs to adjust the volume and move from one song to the next turn easily and are a good size for kids with developing fine motor skills. To advance to the next song turn the orange dial ahead once and to return to a previous song turn the dial backwards two times.

Mediocre
