Better ChefDouble Burner

Works well so far! I have used this for a couple weeks now and it does work great. Electric cooking is not ideal but if it is the only thing you have access to due to moving, the main stove going down for some reason, etc. then this is a great option to have. Even if you have to run it off a generator this unit would serve anyone well especially for the price this is selling at right now. Also, it's light but bulky so moving it around is no problem. It heats up quickly enough for electric but I recommend pre-heating it if you're following directions. Otherwise just take the pan/pot on and off as needed to control the heat.UPDATE: This thing is rather cheaply made and one of the connections for the burners is going out but what do you expect for 25 USD? I've used this thing heavily to cook off to the side and it's taken a lot of abuse so it's not surprising it's starting to malfunction. I'll probably just invest the money in a more quality unit the next though. I still recommend this product if you don't need something sturdy.

Can’t speak for longevity as I’ve only had it a wk or two, but I’ve used it at least half a dozen times since received and have had zero problems. Heats up just as described and intended. The lights are also a great feature, as I only need to glance over to check if I’ve turned everything off. This is a great product for the price. I would recommend.

Our kitchen range died suddenly and completely. Used this to cook while waiting for the replacement range we wanted. It worked beautifully in making all types of stove-top food: soup, pasta, sauteed vegetables, eggs, etc. There is a tendency of frying pans to slide around on the heating elements. There are 10 settings for each burner and both heat up very quickly. The larger burner is very hot even at low settings. For example, eggs will fry quickly at heat level 2. The burners cycle on and off, which I suppose is done to avoid overheating at any particular setting. The manual says that the heating elements can be lifted for cleaning the drip pans. Without removing the screw in the center of each element they cannot be raised. Nevertheless, a good-performing product at a very modest price.

Really cool!! I thought it was going to be a real problem getting used to an electric burner, because all my life I was used to gas. But this little burner is great. Get hot quite quickly and stays hot, doesn't turn off automatically like I have heard that some do and doesn't burn the pots. It does take a lot of electricity (I kind of have my kitchen area in the basement and I can't use this burner while using something else). I really recommend this product. I been using it for almost two months now and even I don't cook that much I have made pasta, rice etc in this burner and has been really more than I had expected.

Works great for the first couple months, then it seems to lose some of it's power on the larger burner after a little while. It used to boil quickly, but now if you want to bring to a rolling boil you have to use the lid. I will buy a better one next time with a stronger burner.

I would NOT recommend this product! The first time I used it, it shocked me. I plugged it up, turned it on, and sat my pan on it. While setting my pan on it, it shocked me, horribly bad. I felt it all the way down my arms and to my toes. I hurt for at least a half hour after the fact. For those reasons, I would NOT recommend it. I give it one star because amazon was very quick at delivering it and the package looked nice.

We're doing a kitchen remodel. Ourselves. Darn you HGTV! There is absolutely nothing in the kitchen, hasn't been for 4 months. I set up a kitchenette in one of the spare bedrooms and the only appliances we have is this double burner, George Foreman grill and a toaster. We use this double burner several times a day. We make our own dog food, we use the burner. Breakfast, lunch, dinner... burner. I've never had a pot fall off, I've had a few spill overs and it hasn't shorted out. We can't put two larger pans on it at once, but we make do. Only critical thing I have to say is that after about 6 weeks, all the black from the knobs came off... but then, after 6 weeks, we knew what temperature we'd want the knob to be at anyway. It cleans up well. It's been a trooper, no doubt.

this tabletop burner system works better than any I have tried before. For starters, it is light weight, lighter than previous two burner products I have used. the left burner is the powerhouse for fast boiling; you can boil water and cook products that need a steady boil to steady simmer; the controls are precise and you can fine tune the simmer to boil. That alone is unusual in an inexpensive portable burner. I use the right burner more, and it also can be fine tuned. It will gradually bring liquid to a simmer and boil and not burn the bottom or leave a cooked flavor. I rarely turn it higher than 4; that will reheat to a near simmer in 2 to 3 minutes. For a gentle simmer for cooking I use a 2 to 3. It heats quickly which makes it efficient, and can be easily cleaned and packed up. It is a little fiddly to clean under the burner elements, and both burners are small size.

So I brought this hot plate because of its reviews and I really needed a really good one. It started out real hot No down time then a couple days in, I realize its doing that. The Stove will look like its off for 2-5 minutes then get heated again. Hmmm I dont like that. Especially when I'm really hungry. Its super hard to clean under the burners. Burner size are s/m a big pot won't work so you will have to get s/m pots and pans. I personally would like if the Burners were large. Overall I am gonna keep this item because it heats up really quickly and it gets the job done. I will try to update the performance level when it reach a 3 month benchmark on how its really working.
