A fantastic basic instruction book on learning how to deliver knock out punches.
Even though I am well into my senior years and have spent more than 65 years involved seriously in numerous martial and combative self-defense arts both as a student and a teacher, (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Boxing, Wrestling, American Combatives, Krav Maga, Arnis, and numerous other weapon arts) I am always looking for new approaches to these fighting arts. I love reading and collecting books and material on all kinds of fighting arts. After reading this author’s first book (Finish a fight in one move without any training: the martial arts for beginner’s series), which I thoroughly enjoyed, I decided to see what he had to say in this book (Knock someone out with one punch by Justyn Billingham). First off, I admit to loving this author’s easy going conversational writing style where he actually creates a new sentence and space which makes his books an easy read. I also loved his approach to learning how to punch. This 120 page manual explains in detail the essential factors in developing knock out punching power. It also has great black and white clear photographs showing all the exercises and punching techniques. This excellent book covers the following topics: Basic punches and more, how to make a fist, the fastest punch out there, the most powerful punch, the best knockout punch, the street fighting favorite, the guard beater, the hidden gem, where do I hit someone? The hard truth, the elements of a successful punch, warm up, developing technique, footwork, power, speed targeting and time.In conclusion, this is actually an excellent basic beginner’s boxing text for anyone interested in learning how to properly deliver powerful punches. My only complaint about this book which is the same as the last one I read and reviewed is the LACK OF PAGE NUMBERS, WHICH I STILL FIND WEIRD. Other than that this is a fantastic book.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Shotokan Karate self-Defense Techniques: Combat Karate for the street).

Just what I needed.
I am a 67 year old retired man in good shape but in our increasingly dangerous world, I feel the need to be able to handle an attacker should I need to. I am starting immediately. Thank you Justyn.

A clear to the point book
This book is great for the beginner as well as for anyone with a knowledge is the martial arts. It describes the knockout punch in a clear to the point with no information overload. This is one tool I learned so I can keep in my tool box ready for me to use when I need it.

Great read and exactly correct
See the heading. The author knows his material well, and expresses it without wasted words. It comes from experience hard earned.

I've been going around non-stop knocking people out after reading this book! Seriously, it seems to make sense, but one must assume you have a degree of strength behind your punch already. That's my take.

An excellent follow up book, with practical advice and guides to get the most out of your punches
Following on from his last book, which I will link here, Finish a fight in ONE move: Without any training (Martial Arts for Beginners Book 4) , this book proceeds to give more practical and training advice on how you can develop the explosive speed, timing and power to deliver knock out shots. From first showing you how to form a proper fist, a very useful piece of information for those who have had no formal training, through to training drills, structured for all levels from beginner to advanced practitioners, this book gives drills and training guides to allow you to develop the hard hitting punches, capable of levelling an adversary quickly.Well worth a read for all levels Finish a fight in ONE move: Without any training (Martial Arts for Beginners Book 4)

I understand better now how to avoid confrontations
This is an unusual book. I had no idea about the mechanics of violence and its motivations. This book despite its title is really about how to avoid getting into a situation where one is endangered. It's written objectively, without any OTT dramatics. I understand better now how to avoid confrontations. Thanks. John

Excellent book: highly recommended!
A really well-written, practical guide. I really enjoyed this book. It is full of excellent and realistic strategies to improve your punching power - including how and where to hit and most importantly how to train to to so. If you are interested in self-defence this book is for you. It is also just the right length!
