Not much protection from heat. You can move a hot dish, maybe, but be careful removing anything from the oven: you'll get hurt.

Hard to get used to
I wanted to try non-cloth pot holders. I got these a couple of days ago, and it is taking some time to remember to turn the correct side toward the pan, and fold it properly so that it doesn’t slip out of my hand. Maybe I’ll end up loving them, but so far I don’t.
