This is my second set. These fake laces convert your lace up shoes to slip on. They are a bit fussy to put on your shoes, but once you have them on, you don't have to do it again. For me, three laces on each shoe is plenty and you have extras in case one breaks. I have used my first set for over a year with no breakage, but I am not a runner so can't say how they would hold up for serious athletes.

Not easy to put together as there are no directions just a picture. But they do work.

I first saw these about 7-8 years ago, around 2014 or so, when they had been on the market for a little over 2 years. I was mesmerized by the little elastic-like strips that could replace your current shoelaces in nearly any lace-up shoe and could be adjusted for a fit that was as loose or snug as you need. At the time, I figured I didn't truly need them because I didn't wear lace-up shoes very much and didn't do a lot of walking. Fast-forward to March 2022: I unexpectedly had a chance to take a trip to Boston in May to see my son and daughter-in-law, and I knew I would be doing a LOT of walking to see the sights. My first purchase for the trip was two new pairs of good walking shoes; I realized I did NOT want to worry about my shoes coming untied with all the walking, so I bought the Hickies lacing system in navy blue and in white. I loved them so much, I also bought the translucent, gray/chrome, and neon sets to enable me to change up the styles a bit depending on my mood. I'm currently sitting on a bus in Boston, heading to my son's house after a long day of walking, and my shoes are still as comfortable as they were this morning and I honestly haven't given them a second thought all day. No laces coming untied at awkward moments, no having to tie the laces too tight so they wouldn't come untied. Just pure comfort all day.Coming through airport security on my way here was a breeze because I could take my shoes off and slip them back on super easy, without having to stop and tie my shoes.Hickies have so many ways to adjust the fit that you just really can't go wrong with them. You will love them so much, you'll want a set for every pair of lace-up shoes you have, and you might want some other options just to change up the look a bit.

I liked that the install was real easy and works with all type of lace up shoes the feel is awesome not to tight not to loose. I use them for all around use will be buying some more for my other shoes.

As advertised but a little harder to install.

I have been wearing Hickies for years and love them. They can adapt to any lacing pattern on any shoe. There is more than one pattern for their use and the colors can coordinate with any color shoe.

The shoes installed on made it tricky to do. It had loops but not an even number so I had to get creative on how to do it where the shoe wasn’t too tight to slide on. Also we went through all the extras within a couple weeks bc the locking system kept breaking.

I had to return the Hickie’s. They would not stay on after being installed.

I’ve bought quite a few of these for various members of the family but they are particularly useful for my son who has ASD and consequently isn’t great with laces. He had these in his trainers for school sports. They can be quite tight but fortunately there are a number of different ways to tie use then. There are instructions or YouTube videos to help.

Theyre good but not so good when they're all the same size. Almost need some wider ones for the top holes. As a result my daughter can't use these

How can you improve on shoelaces? Well they have done. Excellent.

I have used them for all my trainers as I struggle with using laces.
