In order for weed barrier to stay down in the ground, it has to have these kind of steaks. Otherwise it will pull up and people will trip over it or weeds will grow through it these work perfect I have a mallet that I pound them to weed barrier and into the ground and it works perfect, they came and packaged in a small cardboard box . The price was reasonable and I am very pleased with the purchase. You need quite a few of them so it’s good that I got this extra box. We are installing weed barrier in a very large area and if you overlap the weed barrier a few inches and pound in one of these steaks it really helps to keep the weeds away.

I bought these to hold down poultry netting, since my chickens scoop under it. They are quite a bit sturdier than the same price (but for less) carried at Lowe's. Strong enough to step in to the ground but flexible enough to slide past rocks. Would work great for landscaping fabric too. I am very happy with these.

I have purchased landscape pins from Lowe’s many times but they pale in comparison to these 6 inch pins. I have only used a few of them but I can tell that they will hold my weed barrier much better than the smaller ones I have used. These are a much heavier metal & longer than the ones from Lowe’s. Since there were 100 in the box, these should last me awhile. I like to put plastic under my ornamental stones in places close to the house and I’ll be using these pins to keep that plastic in place. I’m working in sand, not soil, so I’m not sure how easy they would be to get into northern soil but they sure slide right in the sand here. I’m a happy gardener.
