TOTALLY CAPTIVATING ROMANCE
Collette Cameron is one of my most favored treasured of authors. She never disappoints, and the same is with Virtue and Valor, book two in Romancing the Scot series. Although it is book two it can be read as a stand-alone. This fabulous book is filled with page turning passion, romance, action, and will leave you wanting to begin the next in the series. Collette Cameron never leaves a reader feeling as if something was missing, but leaves the reader feeling as if they were a part of the story themselves. The hero, Bartholomew Yancy, not being the firstborn, had no plans to marry but instead chose a career as England’s War Secretary. But things do not always go as planned as he finds when he unexpectedly inherits an earldom. Now he must resign his career and marry and produce heirs.Only one woman comes to his mind when he thinks of marriage, Isobel Ferguson, who was sent to Scotland to mediate the feuds and upsets between clans. This is one lady who is daring and loves to do unconventional things such as ride astride and go exploring. She does feed a pull towards the hero but rumors abound that Bartholomew is no different than men in her past showing interest in her for her beauty, never giving a thought as to whether or not she has a brain. She ignores any attention he sends her way because she has no tolerance for men who think beauty is the only thing a lady has to offer.Isobel is abducted by a band of outlaw Scots and Bartholomew rushes to rescue her, resulting in her father and brother insisting upon a wedding. Bartholomew has no hesitance and agrees, but Isobel will in no way be railroaded into marriage. The banter between the couple definitely pulls the reader into the story.I highly recommend to anyone who loves reading romance, Virtue and Valor and any other books written by Collette Cameron. She leaves the reader always looking forward to the next new release.

AN h WHO PUTS HERSELF IN DANGER!
I don't feel sorry for an h who seems to go out of her way to get in trouble and almost causes others harm.I didn't lower my rating because of the h's lack of common sense, but for a simple thing called communication. She had more than one chance to clear the misunderstanding up but she doesn't until the last chapter. Wow, that is a major pet peeve of mine.I read some of the negative reviews and some had a problem with the lovemaking, but I didn't. It doesn't happen until the 98% mark and just hours prior to them being married. By me the heat level was mild, but others found it offensive. I guess the saying TO EACH HIS OWN, plays into this. I would rate it 3 out of 5 and only described once. So don't be thinking they are acting like rabbits because that is not the case.We have a couple villains and I just knew for sure who one was, but the author throw me a curve ball and I was wrong. This is not your usual Highland story, but still a entertaining read. I have read only 3 of the stories, and not in order (I purchase when on sale) and I was not lost. There is no cheating, romance does build slowly, we do get HEA and no cliffhanger, plus an epilogue a few months in the future. I am not going into the premise, as many have explained it better than I, just what you may get out of reading it. (ljb)

Taken with Yancy!
Isobel knows what she wants and is strong willed enough to recognize the desire she sees in Yancy's eyes. Unfortunately, Yancy has a stepmother who is determined to see him married to his "cousin." Love struck Isobel is ready to fall into his arms when the cousin tells her that Yancy has compromised her and they are betrothed.Ah, the tangled webs they weave to deceive! Excellent novel.

***********Possible spoilers in review***********
This is an interesting read with a mostly good plot. I really liked the hero, Yancy, even though he did some really silly things. One thing that caused me to snort in disbelief was method of tracking an abducted woman. She very nicely left pieces of her clothing and made arrows to point in her direction. Yancy is following the clues and hoping that her brother will catch up to them. BUT, he is tucking the pieces of her clothing into his pockets as he finds them!!! Shouldn't he be leaving them for her brother to find? Holy Toledo! Isobel was okay, but for a supposedly smart woman went out of her way to cause trouble for herself. I really dislike it when the heroine is told not to do something (that is completely reasonable and for her own good) and then does it anyway, causing trouble for herself and other people. The hero's friend, the Duke of Harcourt, is an interesting character and I will be looking to read his story. I actually enjoyed the story even though it had one of my least favorite plot points going...you know the old 'misunderstanding' thing that could be cleared up with a two-minute conversation. I really hate that! Regardless, I would recommend the book if you are looking for a quick, fast paced read.Sexual situations may offend some readers

A delightful heroine and her brave nobleman's path to love.
I finished this novel with a smile on my face. The protagonists are truly likable. I enjoyed the fact that our heroine is intelligent and resourceful, and that our romantic hero is a man who admires his lady love's mind as much as he desires her. This is not a 'clean' novel, although the erotic scenes are written within the context of love and are not distasteful. The one thing I would ask the author is to stop using the American English word for a man's 'sword' because the word used in the UK doesn't start with the letter P; it has four letters and begins with a C. That mistake took me out of the story, and not in a good way. This is why I can't give the novel a 5 star rating. Other than that, readers who enjoy this genre should enjoy this story, as the author is a skilled writer.

Loved the story Lord Ramsbury and Isobel it is hard to believe women are that dense but it makes the story. It would all finish to soon I they where smart enough to ask. That was the only let down other than that well worth reading.

Gripping and enthralling
Loved this story. Found the storyline to be original, inventive and compelling. The characters were well defined, with sufficient background info so as to enable the reader to identify with and relate to them. I found the story to be well written, captivating and imaginative, although it did have many typos. This was the only negative. This is a thoroughly entertaining and captivating story. I highly recommend.

Enjoyed it
Isobel has been attracted to Yancy for many years, but now she is doing her best to avoid him. Meanwhile, Yancy is confused by Isobel's disinterest since she'd seemed to like him at first.I enjoyed this book and I really like Isobel's family. There were a couple of small things I thought could have been better. Isobel was somewhat naive to simply believe what she'd been told, and much ado was made about nothing. Also, a big deal was made at the start regarding how smart Isobel was and how she was tired of only being wanted for her looks. Now, while we had a little of this with the chess match with Yancy, the whole issue is then just forgotten about. It would have been nice to resolve this properly at some point.Other than that, I did enjoy this book.
