This is a fantastic journal. It's bigger than the usual pocket notebooks, so it's more comfortable to write in, but it's not so big that I end up leaving it at home. The Tomoe River paper is my favorite. It's thin so there are a lot of pages in the notebook, and the surface is good for fountain pens.

Update: 8/2/17 I purchased two more of these journals. They are so compact and lightweight that I find myself reaching for this journal over all the others that I own.I wasn't too sure about this journal as I am unfamiliar with the B6 size but I purchased it on a leap of faith. The B6 is great for sticking in a pocket, in your purse or bag. This is excellent quality Tomoe River Paper. I broke out my wettest broadest nib with free flowing ink and this paper took it all. No bleed through. I also pulled out the gel pens and again the paper didn't blink.The journal is so great that I came back to Amazon and ordered a second. Tomoe river paper is very thin so the 300+ pages won't take up to much room and it will not be heavy.This journal is an excellent purchase for people who use gel and fountain pens, and are looking for a truly mobile journal.

I worried this would be too small, but I've come to really appreciate how convenient this is to carry around. The paper is amazing, totally living up to the hype of tamoe river paper.

The actual notebook doesn't say Cafe on it. It's just a notebook.

This is an excellent notebook for fountain pen users. I've been buying Nanami journals since they first started with lined Tomoe River paper journals (the original Seven Seas).These are the only journals I will ever buy. In the past, my only problem with Seven Seas was the size and weight of the original notebook. The Cafe Note solves all of these problems, providing you with a journal that is nearly 400 pages long yet it's slim and light.Comments to those new to these journals:1. These journals are best used with the included box or a leather/fabric cover since the Tomoe River paper is delicate and the cover is flexible.2. Tomoe river paper is thin, with slow dry-times. It's also the only paper I've never had that shows off the sheen and shading of fountain pen inks with such beauty. I never encounter feathering which is my #1 pet peeve with fountain pen papers. It's a thin paper, which means show-through may happen with broad nibs. Nanami includes a piece of pink blotting paper so that you can always close your journal when you are ready. This paper lasts a LONG time!3. Seven seas journals have an excellent lay-flat binding for a pleasant writing experience. They are printed with a subtle ink that doesn't detract from your writing.Photos show a few of my Nanami journals to compare the size of the Cafe Note to the Seven Seas. I've had every version of the Seven Seas from the original on the bottom left, through the two different versions of the Cafe Note (Cafe Note lined pictured on the right), including standard (blank), Crossfield (grid), and Writer (lined). Simply the best! I can't gush enough. I've also included a photo of what print looks like on this paper with a fountain pen, showing a Bock F nib and a Lamy F nib, with Diamine Ancient Copper and Diamine Marine.
