Sumo Colors (Little Sumo)

I love the colors in this book, definitely for an older baby, my baby girl is 3 months, have read it to her but she currently needs more contrast to focus, so saving for when she can see the colors, great book for learning colors.

I bought this for my infant daughter. I like that I can teach her the English words and Japanese words for colors at the same time. It’s helpful for me that the pronunciation is also provided since Japanese is not my first language. Thankfully, it’s my husband’s 1st language so he makes sure I use proper pronunciation too. (Blue/Ao is still a huge challenge for me!)

I think young children under 10 will love these books. I did buy this book and the other similar ones for my neice and nephew and will also buy more for my hair dresser’s children as well. They are the hard pages with the words in English, then written in Asian alphabet and with the pronunciation of the word in Asian. Simple bright pictures of the word and what it means is splashed on each page. This is a great starter for youngsters and guardians to learn about a different culture and language in such a simple and fun way. It could open doors to research for older kids plus the pages cannot be torn so they will last forever.

Fun art in English and Japanese!

This is a Children's Book that I read to my twin boys. This book was so much fun to read. There was not a lot to it, but it was a big learning and fun time. Each of the pages has one color name like red then that word in Japanese, and I used google translator to hear to word in Japanese. My kids loved hearing the word in Japanese after I said it in English. Very fun and cute book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

This is a really cute book that introduces babies to colours in both English and Japanese. The illustrations are cute and colourful. Perfect for a bilingual baby.

Ordered this one first because it came faster on Prime, but I cannot wait to read the others. We love to watch sumo and it's hard enough to find fun sumo things, let alone kids books! The story is very short; one color per page. Right now it's basically me monologuing to my infant, but I'm sure as she gets older she'll enjoy the detail in the illustrations like I do.
