Very high quality book that will teach you everything about each type of breed. I think the book might have missed a few breeds such as the Schnauzer. It gives you information about how each dog is like and a score out of 10 for ease of training and a few other sections on the dog. Recommend to anyone who is new to dogs and doesn't know how certain breeds behave.

This is great book for anyone who is planning on getting a pedigree but who doesn't know where to start.It's jam packed full of useful information and covers a huge range of dogs and in detail!What's nice also is that the author has broken down the information into easy to read sub sections so you get all the info which you need to know before getting a dog such as the history of that particular dog and a rating on how that dog performs under certain headings such as its protection ability, ease of training and so on.I know that getting a dog is an emotive decision but also it is a practical one and it's always a good idea to know what your getting yourself into before you make the decision to add a new member to the family!Great read!

Overall, book is OK, but I wish it only included the 50 most common dogs available instead of dogs that are not commonly available, like a Basenji, for example Sometimes, under Adaptability Section, sometimes she mentions whether a dog can handle being left alone, and sometimes she forgets to mention it. I think it is important to mention it for all the dogs she talks about. She uses a number grading system from 1 to 10 for the following categories: Protection Ability, Ease of Training, Exercise Needs, and Adaptability. I find the number scores very helpful.

Realy amazing book with 50 dogs breed. I will recomand that book for everyone who are new one and wont to buy a dog or for everybodey who had a dog but now wonts a new breed. And there is also a lot of other informations which you need to know if you already have a dog that you can understand the nature of special breed. Love it!

The cover of Dog Breeds got my attention, which led me to download it. The author wrote in an interesting way that kept me interested throughout the whole book. It covered the importance of learning a lot of different breeds and how to choose and prepare, if you want to buy a dog. I will use this book if I ever decide to get a dog. I recommend it

This book has a different chapter for 50 different dog breeds, and in each chapter it offers some general information and background history on the breed. It then supplies a 1-10 rating for the following catergories: Protection ability, ease of training, playfulness, exercise needs, and adaptability. The book would be great if you were considering getting a dog and wanted to know which breed would fit your needs.

Some of the pictures maybe are not showing the dog up to the full potential of it's looks. I like small dogs much better than big ones and their weren't as many small as large. Even so I came to be aware of a few different small varieties. It's interesting just how long some have been around and what they were bred for.
