The best system, in it's price range, that I have EVER owned!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
My vocation necessitates that I, quite frequently, travel internationally into extremely remote non-industrialized regions of the globe!! Subsequently, I carry a variety of very sophisticated, and expensive, portable water purification units with me at all times. They are designed for a myriad different applications, hence, they range from pocket sized to counter top sized, and from city water to pond water - LITERALLY!!However, I purchased my two PUR systems specifically for domestic use. I utilize the pitcher for the refrigerator, and this PUR 44 cup for the kitchen counter. I use them both EXCLUSIVELY for ALL of the H20 that I consume, from my coffee in the morning, to my hydration throughout the day, and then oral hygiene before bed at night! The PUR systems ARE MARVELOUS at effectively, efficiently, and expeditiously accomplishing the task for which they were designed in an Eco-friendly manner. PUR has enabled me to be supplied with sweet tasting, fresh filtered water. Hence, PUR units are effectually empowering me to produce a sub-zero carbon footprint in the process (NO MORE PLASTIC CONTAINERS!!)The PUR filtration system leaves ABSOLUTELY NO lingering odor from, or lingering after-taste in, the water. Furthermore, there is ABSOLUTELY NO mineral residue in either the unit's water reservoirs or my coffee maker (2 pots daily!!) You'll be AMAZED at how fresh-water can diminish the bitter taste of your coffee and revitalize your coffee-maker, while extending its life span!!The PUR units are VERY nicely designed and well-constructed from top to bottom!! I've owned the larger pitcher for several years, to be kept in the refrigerator, and the PUR 44 cup, for kitchen counter use, for about 6 months. I am conscientious to use all of the filtered water each time that the PUR unit has been filled, thus rendering the unit completely empty. I then give BOTH reservoirs a quick rinse prior to refilling them. The PUR 44 cup unit's reservoirs can be expeditiously replenished as a result of its dual filter design!!The PUR filter replacement indicator, that is located on the upper portion of the spigot, is VERY helpful to remind me when to replace the filters. PUR replacement PPF900Z filters are extremely affordable when purchased in a 4-pack, AND, replacing them is an exceptionally simple task! Those who berate the quality of the PUR’s dispensing spigot must be pretty rough with it. Please bear in mind that it is neither a gear shift nor a beer tap!! Those who say that it leaks mysteriously, may simply be overfilling the top reservoir! When the bottom reservoir is full, then the top reservoir can NOT be filled beyond 3/4 inch below the top rim. As a point of reference, the top of the divider fin, that separates the two filter chambers, can mark the maximum effective fill level. If the PUR is filled much higher than that then, VERY SLOWLY and INCONSPICUOUSLY, water will wick up, then out, from the area between the outer side of the top reservoir and inner side of the bottom reservoir. It happened to me ONCE!! (see photos)When I contemplate the quality, utility, convenience, and cost of these PUR water systems, I can not hesitate to acknowledge, and applaud, the phenomenal value that they represent in their price range!! Also, both of these PUR water filtration units come fully equipped with their initial filters, which are included in the remarkably affordable purchase price!!!

Love this
Definitely large enough for a huge family. This water filter is easy enough all you have to do is refill it. No need to take it out from the fridge. I would recommend this filter to whom ever has a huge family also the water is great and taste totally different than bottled water.

Pretty easy to use. Definitely takes the chlorine out of the city water.
I like the size / volume vs. the usual Brita filters. This is too big to fit into the refrigerator like a smaller filter would, but you certainly don't need to fill it as often. Having dual filters also means it'll refill faster than other counter top filtration systems I've used. It's easy to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning. My only complaint is the dispenser valve. It's plastic into plastic with a seal and a less than rigid fitment. It also only moves maybe 30° from vertical when fully open. I suspect a lot of people will think you can flip it down 90° and it'll hold itself open. That will break it. You have to pay attention to not over-pull and thus you also need a hand on the valve and a hand on what you're filling at all times. Getting a single glass of water isn't an issue. Trying to dispense half a gallon into a pet water fountain or a full gallon into a pot to go on the stove generally requires some additional vessel with a handle and multiple trips.

NO PROBLEMS AFTER 60 DAYS
I deliberately waited to leave a review because some reviews complained of leaking after a week or so. Also, the first one I ordered from Wally World arrived cracked on the bottom and leaked really badly although the crack wasn’t obvious until I filled it up of course.Anyway I have had no problems with this. And the water tastes good from day one till now. There are 2 adults that fill large water bottles (24 oz each) usually 2 or 3 times a day plus make 2 pots of coffee (6 cups each) daily from this pitcher. Also other minor amounts when filling ice trays etc. We have it sitting close to the sink hose sprayer so it is very easy to fill. But n a different spot, I used a pitcher to fill the reservoir making a couple trips to the sink. In our small kitchen, that wasn’t really a problem either. It has never leaked a drop. Filters are very easy to remove and replace. Some reviews complained of the spout leaking over time. I haven’t had that issue so far. Also, some complained of the spout being impossible to clean. This does come with a plastic “wrench” which stores on the bottom of the tank and it easily removes the spout for washing. I wonder if some buyers didn’t notice that device or forgot it was stored underneath the tank by the time they were ready to change filters and clean the spout. The instructions do say to be very sure everything is dry before reinstalling the spout. I can see where the rubber gasket that stops the spout from leaking could wear over time or be damaged with rough handling. But that sort of thing can be easily and cheaply found and replaced from hardware stores.I haven’t needed to replace the filters yet as our use would seem to be approximately at 4 months and it’s been 2. I am alert to monitor the flavor and appearance of the water in case that’s too long because of our hard water or chemicals in it. So I have no complaints with this item which is rare these days. If it does fail, I will update the review.

Great replacement for bottled water
After getting tired of being gouged for bottle water delivery, we switched to this Purr lead-free water filter system and are very happy with it. We put a smaller one the the fridge for cold water and this one on the counter for cooking and everything else, like filtered water for our cats. I only wish we had done this switch a long time ago and saved a lot of money. If you are still debating, just do it. It’s like cutting the cord with cable tv. Better off streaming and saving lots of money.
