Blasticks are a main tool in my stick bag!
I use both the rubber and wood-handled Blasticks, and they each have their use. The wood-handled are good for playing louder, with a different balance/fulcrum/bounce and can play cross-stick/louder rimshots. The rubber-handled Blasticks are lighter and “brushier” and are my go-to’s- because they minimize their impact on my 50-years drumming hands. Overall, Blasticks are my secret weapon, in that they make it easily to play the whole set at the same loudness more easily, which is nice if they’re right for songs in the studio.

I can play like I want and still be quiet
I play drums in a small church and the loudness of the drums was always an issue. We put up a drum shield and even switched to HotRods and It was still a little too loud. We have 0 acoustic treatment in the space besides padded chairs and people. So I tried these Blasticks and i'll tell you what...I can play like I want and still be quiet. We even removed the shield last night at practice to test the noise floor and I think we will permanently remove the shield soon, they worked that well. Obviously you still to regulate yourself and not be sloppy, but they are awesome.

Failed after 2 hours of rehearsal
I was looking for a quiet way to practice as if I was playing full volume. The nylon dowels come out of the handle far to easily. These lasted for two hours of our most recent reversal. Also the rubber rings slide off almost instantly.

Awesome addition to your bag
These are the closest thing to sounding like wooden sticks while being quieter that I've found. They can still be pretty loud if you whack em, but I find the flexibility helps you control attack volume. The biggest turn off to some will be a slightly plasticky and really flexible feel, but once I mastered that I couldn't put these down! The wood handle is a huge plus, great for cross stick techniques and different sounds.

A nice mix of soft and snappy
I much prefer these to Hot/Cool Rods. They have a soft, rounded attack, snappy but warm. Feelwise, they have little-to-no bounce, but seeing as they're situated somewhere between the aforementioned rods and more traditional brushes, that's not exactly surprising. My only issue with Blasticks, and the reason for the missing star, is that the bands that bind the sticks snap or wriggle off within hours. You can rebind the sticks with tape, rubber bands, and so on, but it's still a pain.

Great sticks for small club gigs
These are truly awesome. They are much better than the wooden dowel sticks. If you are playing a gig where you need volume control, but still want to have a strong attack on your kit, these are perfect for that. You will need some rubber bands to put on them as the bands they ship with will fly off immediately. These are very rugged sticks. I have pounded them far longer and harder than any of the wooden dowel versions. The dowels snap off those quickly. These don't break.

Good durable alternate sound
Good sound for light-med volume playing. Attack is somewhere between regular brushes and "HotRods". More durable than HotRods, but the nylon bristles do start to fray over time, causing them to lose some attack.

Better tone on the drums than (Medium) Hot Rods
Once you get past the whip-like action, these are really great.Nice pop on the snare, a more clicky sound on all the drums, as compared to the deader, woody sound of Hot Rods.I've been trying all kinds of low volume sticks like these, and the Blasticks have the best tone.Still, I switch around depending on the song.I'd recommend adding these to your ever-expanding collection of sticks.
