GET THESE!
This is a super cheap way to make your pool filter last a really long time, and save yourself a lot of time cleaning it. I threw away the first couple of skimmer socks as they filled up with tiny debris, then found that it's really easy to turn them inside out and rinse them with a high pressure garden hose nozzle. These catch a LOT of little things that definitely would have ended up in my pool filter. We have an enclosed screened pool, but gnats and pollen gets in anyway, and it seems like these skimmer socks catch most of that. I'm cleaning the skimmer sock twice a week at least, but better that than replacing an $80 filter every six months!
