PowerStar Replaces Harley Davidson XL883 Sportster Battery 14L-BS Heavy Duty

Fits, my only complaint is the battery posts are a nut and bolt rather than a threaded post so it's hard to attach the wires.

Package with the battery was delivered promptly and securely. Worth the investment, quality seems good size is good.

I was able to get the Powerstar battery installed on my Sportster, but it was a chore. I wouldn't have ordered it had I known the issues involved.First is the size. The Powerstar is a fraction of an inch larger in length, width, and height than the factory original battery, which is already a pretty snug fit in the battery housing. The Powerstar is so snug it's like shoving your foot into a shoe you wore in middle school. It's possible, but not comfortable.Second concerns the battery posts. The Powerstar has "birdcage" posts, which allow you to attach wire terminals to the top or to the side. The housing isn't large enough to allow attaching terminals to the top, and the terminal ends are too wide to attach to the side of the birdcage because the terminal edge hits the top of the battery. The factory original battery solves this problem by providing a battery post adapter, which moves point of connection to the edge of the battery. The Powerstar provides only a screw and nut to connect to the birdcage, leaving it up to the installer to cobble something together to connect the terminals.The Powerstar may turn out to be an excellent battery. But until these deficiencies are corrected, it shouldn't be sold as a Sportster replacement battery.
