Ok protein bars, poor flavour balance
On paper, they have a lot going for them (gluten-free and don't contain any artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives), and if you find them on sale, they might be worth considering if you need a convenient snack that is high in protein and fibre. However, my biggest problem was the flavour itself. The caramel almond and sea salt combination sounds great, but the execution is really inconsistent from bite to bite. Sometimes I'd get an overpowering hit of sweetness from the caramel that was almost disgustingly sweet. Other times, it felt like I was just biting into pure sea salt. This lack of balance was genuinely off-putting and made the experience of eating the bar unpleasant. You never quite know what you're going to get with the next bite.Additionally, while KIND promotes these as a "healthy snack", it's worth looking closer. Yes, the fibre (7g) and protein (6g) are decent, but each 40g bar also contains 15 grams of fat and 5 grams of sugar. Labelling something with that much fat as purely "healthy" feels a bit like marketing spin. It would also explains why I feel "full" and having trouble finishing a bar sometimes, not because it's filling, but because of the huge amount of fat.Overall, these bars are just okay. The nutritional benefits like fibre and being gluten-free are good, but the inconsistent, poorly balanced flavour and the slightly misleading health halo really irks me. They're edible, especially if discounted, but not something I'd rush to buy again.
