I love my Bear Butt!! UPDATE one year later
Bear Butt Double Parachute Camping Hammock: UPDATE:This week marks one full year of sleeping in my Bear Butt Hammock every night, in lieu of a bed. (Technically next week, but I didn't want to forget) I just re-read what I wrote last year and there is nothing I want to change or add except possibly this little anecdote. Next month I will be spending a couple of weeks in NYC. I just bought another hammock stand to take with me to use in place of the hotel beds. By having a second stand, I don't have to dismantle this one, plus it will be shipped up in advance. I Love my Bear Butt so much, I don't want to do without it. Plus, wouldn't you take your bed with you if you could? :-D Thanks Bear Butt!!By the way, I did see some questions about getting a stand on a couple of Bear Butt pages and this is the one I use, available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015ZK6VA2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . (Zupapa Hammock Stand Fit for 12-15ft. Hammock, 2 Person Heavy Duty 550 LBS Capacity with 2 Steel Chains 1 Carry Bag) I use Bear Butt Straps instead of the chains that come with the stand because they don't make noise and they are just fantastic straps! Soft and Strong! Go Bear Butt Go!!Below is the original review, intact from one year ago:I cannot say enough about how much I love my Bear Butt hammock(s). It is exhausting to see all of the options you have on Amazon and of course everyone claims to be the best. I bought Bear Butt because of their size and load rating. I'm a pretty big guy, (6'4", over 200) so if it doesn't say specifically that it is big, I won't bother. Often enough even when they do say big, it doesn't mean big to me. But Bear Butt delivers! The hammock is 10' long and very spacious. I bought a standalone frame and I sleep in it every night in my apartment. It is super comfortable and the material is luxurious. I now have three Bear Butt hammocks! I keep one in the Jeep - you just never know. I use one every night in my apartment and I bought a backup for that one. The inside one is the All American which is beautiful - Stars and Stripes. I just had the feeling that would be limited edition, and if anything ever happened to it,... well, let's not think about that. The outside one is blue and grey.Recently I bought a second kind of hammock stand so I could hang when I travel for work. I intended to use it in hotel rooms etc. It was made by another manufacturer with a solid reputation (ENO), but it was too small for the Bear Butt. So I bought one of theirs. They were both ENO, who, by the reviews seems like they might be kings of the hill. I could not have been less impressed. The stand was of good quality, but too small. The hammock was horrible. It was small (9'-3" according to their literature), and though it claimed to be a double nest, there was no way I was getting someone else in it. It was a coarser fabric than the Bear Butt and it generated static electricity like you wouldn't believe!! Not the case with my Bear Butt.I now have three Bear Butt hammies, two sets of Kodiak Straps which are incredible, a BB Bug net, two rain flies and one plastic, solar powered dancing Bear Butt bear. I wish they would make an under quilt to fit their hammies, but we'll see. I would Highly Recommend Bear Butt products and I don't impress that easily. Go Bear Butt!By the way, don't let the low price fool you. Once in a great while you actually get great quality at a low price. This is one of those times. Inexpensive. NOT Cheap.Hang Safe

Great hammock, greatest customer serivce!
First let me say that the customer service is unmatched. I had a very tiny issue that I thought they should know about and they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. Which I wasn't even unhappy about the tiny issue.Dylan is a gentleman and a scholar. He is apparently also a cofounder who I was corresponding with by text message! Who does that.As for the hammock, its great. My wife has been using it everyday. It is very comfortable and spacious. It seems to be built very well and has great stitching. The ends are very stout. We have been using the supplied string until we get tree straps and have had almost 400 pounds in it with no problems. Also, I don't know any special knots and have not had a problem. The string seems to hold a knot well.It is very light and packs up very small. It is vibrant and comes in some nice colors. I don't see how these wouldn't hold up for months unless there was something that cut a seem. When my wife and I where lounging in it there was enough hammock we could pull it over us if we wanted.I have been unable to come up with an improvement. It is simple and that's what makes it great. No ridiculous over engineering on this great product. And, as a side note, the follow up customer service emails after you order will bring you and your friends a lot of enjoyment. Well, as long as you pass your phone around at work for them all to read it like I did.

Durable and comfortable
I sleep in it outdoors, often, any day, rain or shine. So the question is not is this the best hammock, but is it the best at this price point. Since I spend so much time in these, I plan on buying a "premium" hammock soon, such as those made by Hennessy or War Bonnet. I will add my evaluation of those on this review so the reader can get a better perspective, once I have spent at least a month in one of those. My only complaint about this hammock is that the rope for the trees is just a waste of effort. It has no sheath is is just a plain rope and I don't think it is safe for younger tender trees. Also adjusting rope with knots is really not easy. So I bought the Hammock Straps by HikeGuru.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071X95TQG/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1These seem to be unavailable so here is a similar product: Kamber Hammock Strapshttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DD376DC/ref=dp_cerb_3These straps are easy to use, infinitely adjustable, and protect the trees.Otherwise this hammock is very well made. After 30 consecutive days sleeping in this, there were no signs of wear. The hammock seems roomy. I am 6 feet tall and I weigh 200 pounds. I saw no noticeable fading from the sun, though it was under a large tarp. Sleeping at an angle you lay almost flat. I had no problem sleeping on my side or even my stomach. There is enough width that if the morning sun wakes you up and you want to sleep in just center yourself a bit a pull the sides over your face to reduce the sunlight. This also can keep you warmer on mornings that are just a little cool.I found this hammock less restrictive than some of the smaller ones I have used. I recommend the double size, even if you are sleeping alone.Later I will add to this review when I compare it to more expensive choices. There is not as big a price gap as one might expect as the more expensive choices include things like bug nets and rainflies. MY bug net was $23, my huge rainfly (10' X 13') was $40 and my straps were $15. So this whole setup was $107. That is a steal because my Eureka test cost several times that and is not nearly as comfortable.I will add photos later this week.

We LOVE this hammock
I bought this hammock for my husband after his last one bit the dust - I read a lot of reviews and this one was highly recommended and I can see why. I bought the additional straps and this made it especially easy to set up and secure. It’s super comfy and stores very small. Two of us can fit in this.

Very Sturdy & Atrractive
Firstly, we reviewed tutorials on how to properly hang a hammock, then purchased the straps to hook this up. Although a bit long for us, they're perfect & super easy to use. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B082KCC994/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1We've hung in our garden & the colour khaki/green is super for blending in w/plants & trees. We love it!
