Perfect pen!
I absolutely LOVE this pen! It writes beautifully and takes me back in time each time I use it! I even purchased one for my best friend…..we will be taking them on a wagon train vacation to write our adventures in our journals.

Good fun set
This is a fun calligraphy/dip pen set for folks looking for something to gift that is elegant but also fun. It is not the best for serious practitioners but fun for kids and first timers. The set itself is well put together. The glass tip is a tad scratchy but not too bad to try out new ink colors. The notebook is too small to do anything interesting but it is neat looking. Overall, nice starter kit.

Great gift for pen snob or writer.
What a cool little gift to give your favorite writer, pen snob, or yourself! The set comes in a nice little box with foam cutouts that keep everything in place. It comes with a cute little blank journal mini-book that I don’t think you’ll really write in with this dip pen, but you could. The pen itself is really cool. It has a wooden casing and a lid that twists on. There is a pen holder and a bottle of quality black ink. One thing I’d like to clear up. The “colors” they chose match movies. So when they say “twilight,” "dark knight,"and “dune” that just refers to the color type the set comes in. Twilight gives you an amber-like color for the pen. As far as I can tell, they all come with blue books.

Fell apart first use, easy fix, do like the way it feels in hand
I went to write with this and the first time I went to use it, the glass feel out of the wooden handle. Nothing broke but it was two separate pieces and I couldn't use it. I got some strong glue and put it together. After sitting and curing for 24 hours I was able to use the pen and haven't had any other problems. I just don't think you should have to fix something the first time you try to use it.

Nice wood and glass set
Well made and a beautiful gift set. The packaging was designed with a lot of thought. Very sturdy box, the foam really holds the pieces in place (so much so that's it's hard to get them out). The ink is packaged in a small bag, mine was not leaking at all. Writing with a "dip" pen is a little tricky and does take practice. It took a while to figure out what the little hourglass shaped piece of wood was for - it's a place to set down the pen so the ink end is off your table. If you are a collector of dip pens this one would be a great addition. The matchbook size book that comes in this is not very useful in my opinion. I suppose it's ok for practicing with the pen, but it's better to practice on regular size paper. Someone with more imagination than me will probably find a clever use for the little book A larger thin notebook might have been a better choice by the maker. I would have given 5 stars except for that little book.

Cute set
This glass dip pen set looked really cute so I thought I'd try it out. The wood handle is sturdy and the glass pen part is beautiful. The ink came slightly spilled but I'm always aware that something like that could happen so I wasn't too worried. The little book was cute. I found it a little difficult to write with this dip pen. I'm not sure exactly where I should beholding the pen so I hold it on the wooden part, but that's a little too far up and it makes my writing shaky. Lower, or holding on the glass feels odd and uncomfortable. I have another glass pen that I write easier with. This pen is cute though. If you're big into collecting glass dip pens adding this one to your collection won't hurt. This would be a nice gift for someone who is a writer or collector.
