Challenging!
This is a model of a 50's style American Pick up with everything you need in the box, it would make a great gift item for the right recipient.I knew I was going to be home alone on the hottest day so far this year (18-7-22) and was looking for something I could do to distract me from the fact I was at home and not in the wonderful air conditioned palace I work in, good news I have a model I can make, that'le do, sorted!I made a robot model from the same company a few months ago so I had a good idea whet I was letting myself in for.In the box there are 5 large sheets and two small sheets of light ply board that has a pattern laser cut into it. Each sheet is longer and narrower than a sheet of A4 paper but a similar overall volume. There are 460 pieces in the kit and good colourful clear instructions. This is an advanced kit that is rated as being 8 hours in the hands of an experienced modeller. It took me nearer nine but I am happy that I was at least close! The attention to detail is simply staggering, the truck has a working clockwork mechanism and drives the rear wheels through a very real differential. It is vital that you have decent eyesight or good glasses, everything you need to know is in the book but if you are not paying attention it is very easy to put a piece in upside down or back to front, which means a hair raising time trying to undo what is wrong to put it right without breaking anything. There are a few moments where an assistant would be useful two hands really are not enough when putting the second side piece on and whatever you do dont be tempted to rest it on the table while you are otherwise you will snap off the towball and back bumpers like I did!The finished item is very displayable and most certainly not a toy you could let any child play with. They suggest 14 years and older, I an in my 50's and would not have been capeable of doing this when I was a teenager, I simpy didn't have the patience then.I did break a couple of pieces while doing the build but I soldiered on and the end result looks good even though I know where it is lacking. Some spare pieces are included bit never the ones you need, for this I am going to deduct one star! This is not a cheap item but I have enjoyed the build far more than I would have many other types of time wasters, all I need now is a shower and a well earned glass of red.Take your time, read the instructions, look carefully at the pictures and you will be fine.I would recommend this product and may well even buy my father one for his birthday, I am sure he will enjoy it more than the jig saws he normally does to fill his days!Happy to help.

Looks Great When Finished
The media could not be loaded. I don't really have the patience to do models like this but I liked the look of it so much I thought I would have a go, you get sheets of laser cut parts which you just pop out and clip together using small connector pins or just tags on the pieces, follow the instructions and it's quite easy, mind you it needs concentration and double checking as it's easy to get some parts the wrong way round I did that a few times resulting in me having to carefully pull it apart. This vehicle is supposed to move when finished and one of the first things that you have to fit together is the spring/chassis section all the time checking it works, mind did up until everything was clipped together and then when I tried to make it run it wouldn't so I did something wrong, I'm not bothered though as I want it as a display item. One of the few problems I had was pressing out the door window sections, there is a very thin piece of wood that is part of the quarter window and trying to push the center out I snapped it, when I did the second door I was much more careful and managed to remove the sections without damage. On the subject of breaking things the door that I broke the window frame on I also managed to break the door latch spring, which is a piece of wood that has been cut in a way so as it will bend from side to side, once again pressing it out the lower larger section snapped free and the upper sprung section snapped in half so the door latch does not work on one side. All the way through the build as more and more is added it was getting more difficult to clip things together without breaking something, but this truck is amazingly strong and despite on a few parts I was putting quite some pressure on parts I broke nothing.I really love the end result, it was fun to do, I learned a lot from doing this model one being having patience, double checking each item before I pressed them together and just double checking everything, I think if I did another model like this I would not have a problem and it might even work and run under it's own power.

the attention to detail is amazing
UGEARS 3D Wooden Puzzle CarAs soon as i opened this up and started piece the puzzle together is WOW! the attention to detail is amazing. The quality of the material is very good personally Ive never seen these type of puzzles before and at first i thought this was going to be a challenge however it actually not but it does take time. What i really liked most about this puzzle is the fact there are no special tools or glue needed in order to put this kit together and the parts are ready to be assembled right of the box. There are 460 pieces its state this could be completed in around 8 hours however this depends or the person as some may only have a limited time which is completely fine it took me a few days. The model once completed is a 1.18 scale. Some of the wooden part like the bonnet are flexible, the axles and the drive shaft are working parts so along with the spring V8 engine the model can actually move under it own power. The door levers on the outside opens the door just like the real thing. Its amazing how much detail this model puzzle features.Personally this kit is great to do with the kids, It also makes a really good gift to someone who loves building. My grandad was carpenter and i would personally make another one of these with him.i know someone will say this is expensive however for the levels of detail and the fact its mechanical as well the price can be justified.
