Not quite 5 stars but close...4.75**
It started a little slow so that's the reason I couldn't give it a full 5 stars. It got real good after the 100th or so page. Other than that, it was a good read. It had me laughing on some parts about the First Lady. Her actions reminded me of my mother and me. lol.I didn't like that fact that Dante chose to be with Tanisha in spite of the kissing cousin relationship. Nawww, I couldn't go there.I also was little confused about the surprise toward the ending about the relationship between Tanisha's moms affair with T.K. Bishop. Was Tanisha older than Dante? If not, I don't see how T.K. Bishop committed adultery? This is a page turner after the 100th page. It was hilarious.I would highly recommend this book!

Fantastic!!
I was prepared for a "ghetto church shenanigans" story but...this book was a joy to read! I loved (and hated!) The characters, but I was NOT prepared for the ending!! I'm buying and reading this series.

Awesome Book this is my 2nd time reading it
This a book that was written and yet the timeline doesn't show the age of the Storyline which is pure genius

Well...
while this book was good, there were a lot of holes in it. It had lots of potential. I will say Weber has a good way of making twists and turns. I hated the ending. It was so unrealistic and unlikely. What is the chance that he met his 'half sister' on the street? of course there had to be some explanation. and while it was a good one and would have served well as it's own separate story, I just dont see why Tanisha's mother was included in the mix. I feel like the twist was put there just for the sake of it. It would have still worked without the installment of Tanisha and her mother. The crackhead Bishop slept with could have very well been someone else and the shock would have still worked. Now that we learn that Dante has no father, that opens a whole can of worms. I find it hard to believe that he is just so okay with it. That's a whole other story altogether. The end of a story is supposed to tie everything together perfectly. We didnt even know Tanisha's thoughts about the whole situation, which annoyed me entirely.Anyway, I'm not a fan of multiple POVs, but somehow, Weber pulls it off. The only great part is the middle. The beginning and the end need to be changed.

The First Lady Saved The Day
I have enjoyed practically all of the 'Carl Weber' books I have purchased, and this one was 'good', but not as good as others. My opinion has it, where if it weren't for the strength and character of 'the first lady' of the church this story would have missed a lot in the form of a 'good read'. As my heading goes placing emphasis on 'the first lady', when I finished reading "The Preacher's Son" I immediately aimed towards purchasing "The First Lady", prior to which I had not given it much thought. It seems my prior reading has seen a lot of dialog surrounding the 'First Jamaican Ministries church' but the order I read them was a little out of sequence. But thanks to this one and having to find 'The First Lady' in hardcover because it was not available via Kindle the series is coming together.

The Preachers son
The book is about the Wilson family. Bishop TK Wilson is running for borough president, his platform is family values. His wife Charlene runs a tight ship, and nothing gets past her. They have two children Dante and Donna.Dante would like to be a lawyer, but his parents want him to take over from Bishop. He falls in love with Tanisha from the projects, who Charlene calls a tramp. Donna, is a wild child, in love with a member of the congregation. These two children are far from saints, but know how stepping out of line could bring their father down. I felt for Shorty, and the sacrifices he made for Donna, but he gets what he wants in a strange way.Throughout the book, secrets are revealed. Towards the end Carl Weber takes things to another level. I loved this book, and laughed out loud many times. I am waiting to read the next book in the series.
