Holes are large enough to use for cooking, and do not clog like smaller holes. So much better than my old twist-to-open ones! Those would get clogged and stiff and impossible to twist. These only take a flick of the thumb to open, and close just as easily. Better than open top ones that allow moisture to get to the salt. I do wish that they made another set with even larger holes that I could use for my home-grown dehydrated herbs. Not sure these wouldn’t work for that because I haven’t tried, but the holes do look a little small for basil flakes. All in all this is an excellent product!

Found these great for seasoning while cooking, however for the table not as good as they both have large holes so it’s difficult if you just want a small amount of salt.

I bought these specifically to keep my crushed rock salt from turning to a unusable lump and it's worked so far. One thing is the dispenser holes are big so you have to be careful when you shake. It will just cascade out so quickly. I tip it on its side and do a little shimmy with it to just get a tiny bit out of time. Otherwise they're fantastic.

I was not happy when the salt still clumps up because of the moisture. Then when I was shaking it the salt on my food, the salt came out way too fast and too much because the holes are bigger than on a normal salt shaker. Not thrilled with this product at all.

Use these near my stove. Attractive & practical. Love that they are glass, and have a flip up cover to keep moisture & dust out of salt & pepper. Moisture is always an issue in the humid southern U.S. Some reviews complained that the holes were too big, but I disagree. If you turn them upside down you would probably get too much salt or pepper, but I never do that anyway. Just a gentle sideways shake or two works perfectly. The tops are plastic, even though they look like chrome. This is not an issue for me since it seems to be a sturdy plastic. Great value at a great price.

Description claims that the shakers are moisture proof, but the covers are just plastic with no gaskets. They also do not use springs, which allows the covers to lift slightly from the spout before locking into the open position. This makes them splash-resistant at best, and would potentially allow the contents to spill if they were turned upsidedown. Otherwise, they are made well and are a good size, though maybe a bit too large for short-term camping.
