Tiva Riva RP: Sturdy, everyday shoes (that are not blue)
27 October 2022 - I've been wearing Teva Arrowood Rivas on a daily basis for 6 or 7 years (10 or 12 pairs total) and was quite disappointed when they were discontinued. These Riva RPs appear to be very similar to the Arrowood in style, fit and color. They appear to have the same waterproof breathable lining that keep my feet dry and odor free. Note: I've only worn the new Riva RPs for one day so I'll revisit this review if things change.PLEASE NOTE: even though these shoes are listed as "charcoal/blue" they are neither charcoal nor blue. Yes, they have a blue stripe-like thing on the back of the heel. Yes, about half of the BOTTOM of the sole is blue. Yes, the remaining part of the sole could be described as charcoal including the bit that goes up the sides a couple of centimeters. However, the predominant color is OLIVE GREEN. The sides are green, the tops are green, the tongues are green. This does not make the shoes ugly, far from it. It does however make the description look a bit silly.

Decent so far
Nice shoes and I would buy again . They are holding up well for everyday work use . My only complaint is that the inside collar lining is coming apart . In fairness , I slide the shoes on and off without untying them . This may put extra friction on the back of the shoe . I wear them loose as well . They are very sturdy with no other problems , and I will be buying another pair .

Great shoes last a long time.
In the last 5 years I have had 5 pairs of Teva Hiking shoes. They look good and last along time. I have 3 pairs in rotation. A newest pair I use as dress shoes. One pair I wear as every day shoes and the oldest pair with smooth treads I use for yard work. They just keep going. I have occasionally replace the inner sole.

Teva ruined a great design
The previous version of Teva's Riva was a perfect, comfortable fit -- so much so, it was my day-to-day walking shoe for the better part of a decade. The new design is obviously cheaper for Teva to make and no longer comfortable to wear. In addition to the complaints listed in other reviews (eyelets instead of leather loops for the laces, shorter laces that are difficult to double-knot, and a smaller loop of material on the outside heel that's difficult to slide my finger through), the tongue is narrower and, unlike the previous design, it's fastened inside the shoe where it creates a bulge that painfully rubs against both sides of my ankles. I would gladly pay more for the previous design, but I'm not paying the same for an inferior version, so back to Amazon it goes.

Are these seconds?
I bought off Amazon because they were out of stock at REI and my local shoe store. The tongues are too small and one is smaller inside than the other which chases the heel. I’m disappointed in the quality of this great name.

Solid walking/ hiking shoe
This is my second purchase of a Teva hiking shoe. Both shoes have been excellent. They fit as expected, they are sturdy and I feel confident that I am well supported, and my wife thinks they look really good. Since I am not a runner/jogger, I decided to try something different from my Brooks running shoes (sneakers?) when I am wearing jeans and sweatshirt. The Teva shoes are great. I walk 3 miles in less than an hour, and these shoes are comfortable and sturdy.

My favorite hiking shoe!
I've tried all kinds of similar shoes and this one is my favorite. Amazon has a great price on them too...

Very uncomfortable shoes overall....disappointed in my purchase
I really like the looks and design of the shoe. I was looking for some low top hiker type shoes for everyday wear the office and on walks with the dog around the neighborhood. The shoes arrived with one different length shoelaces in each shoe. The right one is shorter and almost can't be double knotted unless I tie it pretty tight. This doesn't work because if you tie the shoes tight, the tongue design has an area that doubles over itself and causes a point of pain at the top of the foot on both size. The metal eyelet at the top of the shoe also digs into the foot if you tie tight at all. The shoe is very comfortable if you leave it untied or so loose that your foot is flopping around in the shoe, but if you tie it normally it becomes uncomfortable very quickly. I've worn lots of Keens and Oboz shoes and boots and I was expecting a similar experience with this nice looking shoe. I guess I'll keep looking.
