Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin: Chronicle of Char and Sayla

Char’s Origins, Animated!
Coinciding with the gorgeous hardcover releases for Gundam: The Origin, this series covers the first of two story arcs that tell the origin story for Char, Sayla, and Zeon itself. This is a very faithful animation of Gundam: The Origin’s story arc of Char’s beginnings and has 4 hour-long episodes in this set. The story starts with the beginnings of Zeon’s movement against the Earth Federation and Char’s childhood and it continues on to toward the timeframe of the One Year War. The animation is gorgeous and both the English and Japanese dubs are well done. It contains a few extras but the main bulk is the episodes themselves. Each one is on its own disc too. Definitely a recommended purchase. One thing to note is that, like the manga, it’s an alternate retelling of Mobile Suit Gundam. So while a lot of the story lines up, some of it does not. Mainly the Mobile Suit designs and a few story elements. But it doesn’t detract from the overall story.

Fantastic Classic Gundam Story
This 4 part OVA is an adaptation of a flashback arc from the manga retelling of the original series. Detailing the early lives of Casval and Artessia Daikum (Char and Sayla), the series depicts how the Zabi family's rise to power took place, how they forced the two children to flee their home and abandon their birthright, and how the young Casval's desire for vengeance led him down the road to becoming Char, The Red Comet. Despite the ending feeling rushed and a little sudden, the series overall is simply great with a well written story, deep exploration of characters' personalities and motives, and not to mention the amazing animation. This is a must have for Gundam fans.

Fist part of the collection.???
Awesom prequel to the original series. Definitely needed a back story on how Char Aznable came to be or more precise, who is Char Aznable. However this is only the first 4 episodes of a 6 episode series. Love it so much I had to get the series to add to my collection but why is this collection only 4 out of the 6. Did they cut and condense them? If so, why?? Should’ve just released it complete and uncut. No unless this is just the first collection which leaves the question of “ When will the rest get released?”

a masterpiece
If you love the original series than this is a must see. The story and details add depth to the original release and show us a little bit more of how some of the major players wound up in their present situation. The animation is crisp and fluid on the blu ray version. The colors and contrast do not disappoint. There is a bit of light hearted humor crafted into the story which flows smoothly with the story. It breaks the dark undertones of anger and vengeance.Beautifully done. Look forward to part IV rumored to be near completion.

The rise of the red comet and other exploits
This shows the beginning of 2 pivotal characters around the universal Century Gundam timeline.Casval Riem Deikun and his sister Artesia Som Diekun. By the end of the show, they have evolved into their present personalities, the red comet char aznable, and sayla Mass ,amuro Ray's first major love interest outside frawbo. Story that revolves around the two of them is pretty intricate as well, involving the mobile suit development project from the very start and the onset of the one year war.a must buy for True fans of the universal century.

Enjoyable Exposition
This was the first gundam I’ve seen, and I definitely enjoyed it. There isn’t a whole lot of mobile suit action though, more political intrigue. I do wish it included episodes 5 and 6 for the price you pay, but that’s an issue across anime blu-rays, not just this one.

Pre original gundam
Vary good but makes one wounded about the gaps in time and how it seems that the tech level as far as ms and it's evolution and mass production in terms of u.c. years and when original gundam starts seems a little unrealistic but hay mobile suit gundam franchise as a whole is outstanding. I would tell anyone to watch it but I wish all the series were in English.

Incredible if often ludecrously over the top animation
Loved much of it laughed at parts that should have been serious because of the extremely over the top animation style. Funny parts are even MORE funny for the same reason. But it really gets the emotions across. One gripe is that Char Aznable being Casval's twin is literally introduced for all of 10 seconds as a ludecrously contrived plot device that even in the show clearly should not work. It's a massive plot hole. There where better ways to show Cazval becoming Char or just have it AS CHAR in desguise as someone else?! My favorite characters however are the Big Giant super emotional Dozzle Zabi who is helarious and Garma who is genuinely cute and a tragic character as he could have been saved from the Zabis mechanization s. It's a shame char kills him

第1話~4話までのセット
米国発送なのでかなり待ちます。私の場合期日までには届きませんでした。まあコスパ良し画質音質良し英語字幕も消せるし(国別コード-北米はありますけど)文句はありませんが。気になるのはあと2話「Mobile Suit Gundam - The Origin V - Clash At Loum」「 VI Rise of the Red Comet 」をお得な価格セットで出してくれるかどうか?ですね。
