SauderCosta L-Shaped Desk with Drawers, Corner Desk with Storage and Keyboard Tray, in Chalked Chestnut

We were doing some remodeling and wanted to upgrade my desk from the 20 year old mess I had (LOL). Since my office is in a corner of our bedroom, I also wanted to get furniture that would match my new bedroom decor. I looked long and hard and decided that this Sauder desk would match my furniture as well as offer me more storage than my previous desk. The desk looks beautiful in the corner of my bedroom and I'm really pleased. It took my husband and I a couple of hours to put together because it is big and has lots of pieces, but the directions were easy to follow and we had no trouble methodically working our way through to a finished desk. It is a very sturdy (and heavy) piece. My only complaint with the desk the keyboard drawer. There is no room for my mouse on the drawer, so I put it up on the desk surface. This quickly became annoying to go up and down with my arm. I solved the problem in a very primitive way by adding a heavy cardboard "extension arm" to my keyboard drawer so my mouse can sit to the right of my wireless keyboard. It works perfectly and nobody else sees it anyways. When I'm through working, I slide the cardboard in and push the drawer in. It is neat and tidy and even my husband is pleased with how much prettier that corner of our bedroom is than before.

This desk is designed so that you can install the sliding keyboard holder on either side of the desk, allowing for you to pick the proper side depending on the office set up and which side you want the monitor to sit. One side has drawers and a file cabinet for those hanging file holders. The other side, has a large bay for a desktop tower to be hidden away.Assembly of the desk was very straight forward and it's been engineered well, so it is easy to assemble. It does take time. From start to finish plan at least a couple hours for assembly.The appearance of the desk is exactly as you see it in the pictures. It looks fantastic. At this price point, with a do-it-yourself-assembled desk, you will not be disappointed. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and how my home office has come together with it.

Was difficult to assemble and the draws are uneven. Otherwise it is very nice, strong and sturdy desk. The color is pretty. I recommend this product.

It's a nice looking desk. I wanted something lighter since it's in a small room. Compared to desks I looked at in the store, the finish on this looks like it is sturdier and will last longer. My husband is a master wood worker and before we opened the boxes I told him about previous reviewers who complained about how long it takes to assemble. He laughed. We used one half of our oversized two car garage to assemble and needed every inch. You need to open both boxes and spread out all of the pieces because you need pieces from each one at the same time. It's daunting at first. Some pieces are well labeled with stickers, some had handwritten letters on the side, some had no labels at all. We had saw horses and 2 battery screw guns and went to town. We had all the pieces assembled in 4 hours and took it inside to attach the top. Soon we were ready to insert the drawers and attach the door. That's when tragedy struck. The door rubbed and though he adjusted the hinges SEVERAL times, he finally gave up had to trim the bottom of the door. Then when installing the drawers, same thing. He had to trim the bottom of the file drawer so it would close. After that debacle we clocked in at about 5 hours total. I said "What do people do who don't have woodworking tool to trim the doors"? After looking at reviews after this I see that we were not the only ones with this problem.

Found this after looking for a desk for months and I knew what I was looking for and couldn’t find it until this one popped up one day. Very easy to assemble but takes a few hours to do because of many pieces. Well built. I’ll be buying more furniture from this company that I found in the future.

So it’s definitely not easy to assemble as it takes time but the instructions are quite clear and easy to understand, unlike most.It’s the perfect desk! Tons of storage, room to write, and incredibly sturdy!Also love that it has a pull out to keep the keyboard. But I use it as storage for my laptop.😁**please don’t judge my messy workstation 😂

I got the service where somebody else puts it together. Took him 5 hours. It was worth it. It’s beautiful and I paired with the corner unit from the same collection that I put together myself!
