So far so good
SMART data looks OK and, so far at least using this as both a secondary drive as a test, and a boot drive for Windows 10, also worked fine. Rated speeds seemed to be in line with what I expected as well.Long term usage is of course unknown but "so far so good".[4/2024 update]. Still humming also, ended up buying two more 120GB drives which I'm testing now.Note on what I'm generally using these for -- old laptops and PC's that used to have mechanical drives, in particular old 2.5inch 5400 RPM drives, these are noticeable improvements and why I find these to be good bang for the buck. For higher speeds, and probably longer reliability I'd still cough up the extra money for a Samsung drive. But again we're talking ~12 bucks for a 120GB SSD here.

Durable
I think I've used this for over a year now, daily use on my laptop, and it continues to function well. I checked the system recently and there were no disk errors or bad sectors. This was a good value.

Good Product, Better Warranty Service
I purchased several of these drives for my "home lab" computers because they offered good performance/size for an excellent price - and I figured I would test them out since my intended use was not "mission critical." I installed both drives in different machines and while one is still working great, the other started failing with unrecoverable bad blocks at about the 3 month point. (Infant mortality happens with all drives, so that's not unexpected from time to time.) However, what really surprised and impressed me was the professional and exceptional way the manufacturer/seller responded to my warranty request. I received a new replacement drive in less than a week after providing reasonable proof of the failure. I couldn't be happier. I would definitely purchased this drive (or others like it) again - knowing that the manufacturer/seller actually stands behind it and honors their warranty! Kudos deserved - Well done!

a working drive
Alright, let's dive into the Somnambulist SSD 128GB SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5β³ 7mm (0.28β³). Now, full disclosure, I didn't run any fancy tests on this baby. Nope, I just popped it into an adapter and used it to migrate my home assistant from an old SD card to this shiny new SSD.And let me tell you, I ain't got no complaints. This SSD seems to be doing its job just fine. It's a game-changer for my home assistant setup. I went from waiting a few agonizing minutes to boot up to under 30 seconds with this bad boy. Talk about a speed boost! Now, I didn't bother running tests to check its actual capacity. Ain't got time for that, especially with all those fake drives out there. So, bottom line, the Somnambulist SSD is doing exactly what I need it to do, no fuss, no muss. For its performance and reliability, I'd say it deserves a solid 4-star rating. It's a great drive for home assistant, no doubt about it.

π‘π©π§π π‘Failed Somnambulist SSD 512GB SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5β³π‘π©π§π π‘
Somnambulist SSD 512GB SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5β³ Died ORDER PLACED November 10, 2023 died June 23 2025 8 months later. I used this to installed windows 11 on my dell inspiron i5555-2866SLV ran good for 8 months for my Web surfing movies and homework then died. Error code Bad system config info. I think ssd failed and is corrupt. I didn't have disk defragmentation on, so it died on its own. I ran System File Checker sfc /scannow to scan for and repair corrupt system files it didn't work. I ran CHKDSK utility to scan for and fix errors on my hard drive. In Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command chkdsk /f /r it didn't work. I tried to Perform a Clean Windows Installation by wiping the drive with command prompt. When I tried to initialize the disk just went back to old broken windows install. It's supposed to wipe the disk and allow me to reuse the disk for storage with a new simple volume. I can't get any of my important files back. I tried to retrieve files the sdd crashes file explorer when searching using another pc. I Even bought a Shoule SMART Enclosure with a LCD display from Amazon to to see the disk health and sure enough The disk health 0% dead and completely useless. I wouldn't buy recommend buying this SSD again. π‘π©π§π π‘

Good Value
This arrived quickly, was a great price and lower than others with this capacity. I purchased it for a Eufy Home Base 3 security unit to expand it's storage and it went in super easy. The SDD was recognized immediately, and I opted to have the Eufy device reformat it for use to further ensure it was good, but no issues. It's also a good looking case enclosure with nothing exposed if you plan to use an external cable kit and as you will not need purchase a protective case. It weighs hardly anything so also great for on the go!

Works great for my TrueNAS build!
The capacity of the SSD is way more than I needed for a boot drive in a TrueNAS build, but at the price I am not at all concerned. I use 2 of these to create a mirrored pool for my boot device. This way if one of them fails, I can simply replace it without needing to re-install the software, import a large data pool, redefine permissions, etc.
